Hello Hivers! π I'm very overwhelmed by your upvotes, comments, and hearts! Thank you very much for appreciating my works! (Bow) π
It was a very memorable experience for us (with my girlfriend @artistryofjirah and my friend @jude.villarta) to join a competition called "Pinta" paint for a cause conducted by our very own Valencia City Youth Development (VCYD) last March 31, 2021, with the theme "Covid-19 Pandemic: A new phase". With business closures and in-person events canceled, we artists who relied on income from teaching workshops and selling at craft fairs lost most of our income. So they made this to help us by purchasing our artworks.

(The cutest part π is with @artistryofjirah)
We only have 2 hours to do the painting, that's why I forget to take a shot of my own process. π
βοΈ To give you an idea, I used masking tape to create amazing white lines and just fill it with colors.

It's very hard to think of a nice concept. Now, allow me to give you a little explanation about my painting. ππ
Disclaimer, this is only my opinion π
This painting depicts scenes during a lockdown. This tells us that not just people are affected by the COVID-19 pandemic but also the economy. There are a lot of establishments that are closed because of preventive measures. A clear pathway symbolizes that the people are not wandering around and staying at home to avoid COVID-19 infection. To minimize transmission in the environment, people should be encouraged to avoid crowds and direct contact with sick individuals, and stay at home. The situation is not normal, and there are many challenges that we need to face to survive. The dark color means a few different things, and almost all of them have negative connotations. Thatβs because humankind instinctively fears the darkness and anything that lurks in the night and also represents another great few being underground, again with no light to see by, and some of them lose hope. Because of these two associations, there are death, depression, fear, and anxiety during a lockdown. Moreover, it gives us an idea of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the environment. These include temporary improvements in air quality, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and lower levels of noise pollution, and we should focus on reshaping our unsustainable production and consumption systems to achieve long-term environmental benefits.
I hope you and you're family are in good health. Thank you for reading my blog. β€οΈπ
I'd also like to thank Valencia City Youth Development for this opportunity to express our thoughts about this pandemic.
