Hi everyone! 😊
I'm happy to come back today with this new drawing I did, this time with white pencils on a black paper ; this is a technique that I reaaally like. It allows us to focus on the light, and it is the exact opposite of the traditional logic of drawing, as we usually think mainly about shadows.
Process
But it's not an easy technique, especially for the first parts ; it's quite difficult to do the first sketch because we don't see the lines exactly as we usually do, I don't know if you understand what I mean?
White pencils are good for lighting, and light details. But tracing the first facial outlines is difficult because we have to see the drawing in negative.
After detailing the eyes, it begins to be easier to see.
After that, I had to draw first the main lights, and blur them, and then I detailed all of the artwork.
And after working on all the hair and skin details, it was done!
The final format was an A5 one.
So, I had to sharpen my pencil well to get enough detail. Drawing detailed portraits is not an easy think on this format, I think it is more it is more suitable for simple sketches.
Hope you will like it 😊
Also, I suggest you visit the blog of my friend @orish who is new on Hive and encourage him! 🤗
See you soon for more creations! 🌸

This is a great portrait of Morgan Freeman. He is one of my favorite actors. I think that you caught his essence pretty well. I greatly liked your post and shared it in LeoThreads.
Thank you so much :)
So lovely! You captured his mood very well.
Thank you! :)
You did a very good work!
You're so skilled💝
Thank you very much 😊
Creative using black paper. It's like scratchboard, but wow...so much more detailed. The reverse medium just makes the artwork so much more amazing. I can't believe how realistic it looks.
Ohh scratchboard is so funny too, you gave me a nice idea...
Thank you 😊
