I really love the Egyptian culture, has something magic to it :)
For this week project I focused on designing and Egyptian Mandala
This a project for cutting machines like Cricut, Silhouette, Glowforge, and other Laser cutting machines. People cut these kind of files from plywood, cardstock and other materials.
The digital cut file is in vector format
for machines like Cricut and Silhouette the SVG file look like this
the crafter will import this kind of svg in their machine software and will cut each layer on different color cardstock
for those who cut it on Laser machines they use wood and than can be painted after
the file is looking like this
I don't have a cutting machines to be able to provide you with photos for the final project, I do have some friends that can test it, but for presentation purposes I use 3D software to simulate how it would look like.
So I import the SVG cut file in Blender and then I give them dimension
Then I export the model and import it in Maverick Studio
I really love this software, it has a lot of materials and also let me import substance materials for a more realistic look
Here are some renders done with Maverick
Looks great even if the material is not colored, like plain MDF material
Or can be painted or used different color material only for a few layers
Can be used as ornament or wall sculpture
