Art in Covid-19 Lock Down

in OnChainArt5 years ago

Though I end up spending more time in my studio than the outdoors, as a painter I actually prefer the outdoors way more than the indoors. Painting outdoors is not a process of painting; it is a process of experiencing nature and life. But due to the Covid-19 pandemic situation we all have been forced to stay at home. Which means by default I paint only in my studio now a days. But I keep looking out of the window for new and exciting subjects. And that is how I ended up with my subject of electric poles.

Most beautiful order can be found only in chaos

Discovering Design

What really caught my attention was the design that was getting created with different kinds of crisscrossing wires that seemed to be all over the place. They seemed to be all over the place; but they were not. They were all tied together in great abstract shapes. We know that all things in nature have a design. But even in man made things where design is not intended, sometimes gets created. And it is a lot of fun to see it, decode it, simplify it and then paint it.

Yet another beautiful design

I usually go though a round of sketching in both pencil and watercolor to get clarity of my composition and design. Here too after doing a few sketches I had a somewhat clear idea of how to approach the painting. And then as it would be boring to do very similar works, I altered some design elements between both the paintings, so that they create different moods.

Here are the art works I created. Hope you enjoy these little lock down art works of mine.
