My latest commission is finished - 1950s Chevy DeLuxe

in OnChainArt4 years ago

Today I would like to share my latest commission job. It is of a 1950 Chevrolet De Luxe that I spotted a few days ago. I asked the owner if he wanted to buy a drawing of it and now it is already delivered. You can read about the story Here

This was a fun car to draw with a few challenges even if it looks simple at first. I made the drawing on a A3 paper and used mostly graphite and a white gel pen for some highlights.

The owner was very satisfied and the good thing for me is that he is member of a motor club. He is going to recommend me and show the drawing to everyone he meets. It could potentially give me more work to do which would be great for me :)

Seeing your drawings never fail to put a smile on my face! I always believed that the 1950s to 70s were the golden age of automotive design, when carmakers didn't have an excess of redtape or regulations to follow. It was the peak of designers going crazy over how to make cars as exciting as possible, just like how phones were in the 2000s. Such great times :-D

Thank you very much. Yes I think the design of cars represent much of how it was during the time. 50s and 60s cars had the best curves

The best curves, and design details to really warm the cockles of your heart. Since then, regulations have made cars endlessly more bulbous and heavy. I'd so love to go back in time :-D
