Hello hive, so guess what I learnt today?
How to draw a croquis
Well I am a bad artist, but I'm glad I could come up with something this cool.
Sketching of a croquis involves drawing out imaginative styles.
The importance of croquis includes;
Once you're able to draw out your style, it would be easier to style and sew
With croquis you would be able to pen down every style as they come, so u won't end up forgetting styles
Croquis gives you a focus and direction on how your dress would look.
Croquis drawing is under fashion illustrations, which is an entirely different course in fashion.
So I'm gonna be teaching you what I learnt today.
First you must be able to draw your croquis model first, before being able to style a cloth on it.
So the material needed to drawing a croquis
- A4 paper
- Pencil
- Eraser
- Ruler
STEPS
Draw vertically the length of your model ( I used 18cm)
Mark the head and foot horizontally
Mark out 2cm for the head, the head isn't round so curve out an oval shape for the head
From the base of the head to to the to the shoulder is the neck which is 0.5cm. You slant out the neck down to the shoulder.
You draw how broad you want your shoulders and circle the joints
From the shoulder to the burst line is 1.5cm.
The burst to the navel point is 1.5cm.
The navel point to the waist line is 0.5 cm.
The waist line to the hip line is 1.5cm, which is also the Virginia point
Then you curve out from the burst line to a thin waist to a broad hips, also shape out like a V downward from the Virginia point.
From the waist line to the knee line is 5cm, circle your knee cap.
The leg isn't straight, so u draw a slant from the waist line to the knee cap, and another slant from the knee cap to the feet. Like a 'K' as seen in the picture below.
Shape it out give your legs flesh
Sketch out a arm and add the shape and a bit of flesh
I hope you could learn a thing or two about Croquis drawing
I hope to show you how to dress and style it some other time when i learn more.
Thanks for stopping by, i would love to hear from you.
Thank you.
