Hi everyone!
Today I come with an artwork I recently finished and that has given me a lot of good moments already. This piece also got a Daily Deviation on DeviantArt, which gave my account a little much needed boost.
The work was custom made for Javier Raya's novel "La Profecía: La Luz Perdida parte 2 ", and the scene depicts a moment in the novel.
In this world, humans haven't seen the sun in many many years. Tonight all tribes join to all together perform a magic ritual that will push away the clouds and the moon and bring the sun back, and with it the warmth and green they so miss.
These are some close ups so no details get lost. :D
The artwork does look a bit small on the book cover but I found it surprising that it's actually not too small to tell every detail apart.
To make sure I knew, Javier sent me not only this book but also the part 1, so now I have much to read. :)
The process animation is rather chaotic but this is just how my process was. The very first frame is the sketch I sent the client and I worked from there.
The whole thing is painted except for a couple of textures and the woman closest to the camera which was rendered in Daz Studio.

An amazing painting! I like the depth of it and The contrast from dark to bright. Beautiful :)
:D Thank you so very much, the lighting was a challenge.. glad you liked it!
I love your style, I want a whole graphic novel of yours!! :D
Haha I would have to spend years creating it, but I would sure love to have at least a book of my art.
Thanks so much!
Wow. This is really nice ! I love the colors and details.
Nice night lightign with a foggy cloudy sky, this could be nice with a moving camera and some music

Tu arte siempre es muy impresionante.
Muchas gracias!
This is really awesome @rowye. I think you did a great job of visually telling that story because if I only saw the picture, I might have guessed something very similar to what you said the narrative was. Awesome stuff, thanks for sharing :)
Thank you so much! A lot of the concept came from the author himself, I had good descriptions of everything which helped. :D
This is an impressive painting!
Thank you very much!

A magnificent illustration, always doing wonderful work.
:D Thank you so much!
Excuse the language, but this is straight-up f*cking awesome. The visual implications of the seemingly minor detail of the woman figure on the left close-up suggests that more than some clandestine gathering exclusive magicks is going on but a communal one. Even the bright light in the middle evokes more a supernatural campfire making it seem warm and welcoming instead of lighting that is cold or none-vital.
I don't know if I've made any sense.
:D You've made sense. At first I made a real campfire and the author told me that it had to be more of a magic ring, so it's pretty much like you put it. :D
Beautiful composition, well done!
Thank you very much! :D
wow, amazing!
Your jobs are always a tremendous works of art ✨
Now I want to be there at this Stonehenge-like place with some magical circle under the moon light. Crazy to think that this actually happened more or less like this in the distant past...
:D More or less, without the magic. Well we don't know but... xD
Truly recommend visiting Stonehenge or a place akin, especially one that you can go to the center of the circle.
