Something different for today. :)
This is an artwork that I made for a band and that I was never paid for. Unfortunately these things can happen and do happen at times, when the client will not hand over the payment even if they have given a small down payment before.
But I guess since I was never paid for it at least now I can give some more honest thoughts on it. :D
While the finished artwork is ok, I'm not too proud of it so I will start showing the very first draft I made for the client, which even if it looks like crap in my opinion is much better than what I had to end up settling for.
Of course this is pretty rough, I spent maybe 4 hours, counting the time in Daz Studio posing and rendering the figures. They gave the instructions and this was my raw interpretation.
I made an animation because it has kind of the very basic things an image needs to get through and maybe it's interesting to see and easier to tell what happens.
Still I think it has a very nice sort of color scheme and I like that the woman's expression is serious and thoughtful. It's still kinda modest and gets the message through.
But he didn't like my vision all that much, here's what he had me do instead:
I like the cobra, and it was some good opportunity to practice painting, but everything else well... just not my thing. It can be a problem sometimes, when I've made my mind up about an artwork, to change it for the worse. I still have all that work to do and I think it sucks, so it's harder for the creative juices to flow.
In the end, I was left with a feeling of wasted time, but maybe it can do some good here. I've also made an animation of the process for the latest one, which is still too rough for my taste, but has some more detail than the other one.

I could never do commission work, having someone tell me what to do. I did let some bands use my finished work though. Like if someone asks, I say check out what I have, if you like something, lets talk.
Yep that's really the best that can happen haha, making something for fun and then someone buying it.
These days I barely have any time to even create personal art, pretty much all I do is for someone... I sure understand what you mean.
I was about to write that there was no need to put the publication for +18 because the girl comes out as naked, but it still doesn't show anything, until I saw the next image hahaha. Fabulous illustrations, a real master.

I prefer the milder one but hey, client's always right (if they pay ;)
