Sicario is absolutely amazing! You simply must see it! It is heavy one though, just so you know.
couch potato
I would love to do stuff like that, but I simply can't. I can manage to sit in movie theatre for several hours, but watching movies at home - can take like 20 minutes at time :D I just have to move around 😂
Nr Nobody
I saw it a long time ago, so I don't remember the film in details, but I liked the concept of it, the setting and visuals. And I liked Jared Leto, even though I'm not a big fan of his acting (I have to take Dallas Buyers Club out of it - he was fantastic there!)
Did you?
Not a fan of any actor really, don't have any favourites. I'm more into writers and directors, people that conceptualise the magic.
Regarding actors, some people are good for some roles, others good for others. I like it when actors are pushed out of their traditional roles.
Haven't seen Dallas Buyer's Club and don't really want to. There's more movies released on planet Earth than I could possibly ever watch anyway.
I am half in half - I recognize the talent of actors, but always looking up who was writing and direct the movie(and produce, depend on the budget)
I've seen Dallas Buyer's Club by pure chance, really, visiting my friend, but actually liked it. Apart from super-hero films I don't really dig big Hollywood films recently at all. In fact even super hero films went into gutter lately, so yeah.. Hard to find something... you know - fresh, revealing :)
I hate the Marvel / DC films being made. It has made "cinema" so much worse. Cookie cutter plot lines and film structures, and certainly not things that can be classified as "art". You know, they're not profound.
I like my cinema to be profound, thought provoking, life changing, all that sort of stuff. That is rare, but when it works, it really works.
Oh no, I wouldn't call it art :D Only one I could put it to art-bag possibly - would be T.Burton take on Batman:) Dany DeVito there is my very favourite, I have to draw him as a penguin at some point.
What you've said remined me Georges Braques words:
'Art is made to disturb, science reassures'
I demand strong feelings form stuff I am watching and reading, something to stimulate my curiosity :)
I would say that is the reason why I read more, and watch less recently :)
So poetic. There is disturbing science; too. That which is ignored. Everything is a crisis, no one ever stops to call it poor planning.
Reading is good. I wish I could do it much more.
Oh yeah,100% agree. Scary even. Braque was painter and sculptor mostly, so I would let this one slip:)
Yeah, if I haven't had to work I would live on books:)
Recently mostly audio - versions so I can work :) but it is not ideal:/
