^{SAINT MARGARETHA OF ANTIOCH - 2023 - 50x40cm}I exhibited last November 2023 in Serbia. My artist friend Snezana Petrovic took care of my artwork after the show, but shipping from Serbia to Austria would have to go through customs. I had handcarried it last year to Serbia, no problem. Artists carrying their own work can do so under this Unesco Agreement. But shipping is a different story. Since Snezana could not come to Austria, she decided to pack it and give it to a friend who would send it from Slovenia, which is in the EU. Locals from the former Yugoslavian Provinces are usually not controlled, foreigners however will. Long story short, I got my art back today, within two days from Slovenia.

This is important to me, since these works were done just for that show and had never been shown anywhere else. Since I am opening shortly at the Ernst Fuchs Museum's Esther Galerie on September 19th, I can include these two pieces!

Biennale Museum Milena Pavlovic Barilli

I was participating in this invitational exhibition in honor of Serbian artist Milena Pavlovic Barilli with one painting and one drawing.

About the Museum: Gallery of Milena Pavlovic Barilli

Official opening was on November 5th, the birthday of the artist.
The exhibition was opened by Dijana Metlic, art historian, Snezana Petrovic, artist and selector for this years event, and Vladimir Dunjic, artist who won the top prize last year.

About Milena

Milena Pavlović Barili was one of the most prominent Serbian artists of the first half of 20th century. She was well acclaimed in artistic circles of Europe and USA.
The gallery houses a nice selection of here works from all the periods of her short life including posters and covers she did for Vogue, Harpers Bazaar and other famous magazines and some of her personal belongings.
The gallery is open from 7 to 15h from Tue till Fri and from 8 to 16h on Saturday.
