Recently, I decided to try something new , painting on a different medium aside canvas . Then the idea rolled over to become some sort of experimental piece . I painted on wood , and also added some engravings to make it more interesting.

The piece is titled ‘ Kin’ which is an English word . The piece is generally about family and their connections .

First I did a sketch on paper , to know how the subject would be on the required surface .

Using a marker , I transferred the sketch onto the surface of the wood .

This was after engraving the lines on the wood , I sought assistance for this part from a professional because for this step I wanted to use an engraving machine to make things easier. Then I used to primer to cover the surface so paint would be able to stay on it since I was going to be using oil paint.

After the primer had dried I was able to paint directly on the surface without and issue .
