in OnChainArt4 years ago
Greetings dear community, once again I am back, these weeks have been a bit busy and with some unforeseen events, among which the one that affected me most, was the breakage of the Ipad screen, the device I use to perform my work, accidents that occur, but thanks to God I was able to solve the problem. It is time to be more active on the platform and provide quality content to this great family. I start this first post with an assignment that I was asked to do, it is a portrait of the wife of a great friend, this drawing focuses me on applying all the techniques and skills learned in all this time, besides seeing some tutorials, little by little I feel that I am improving more and more. What do you think? Did you like the portrait? If you are interested in a work, don't hesitate to contact me, I will be receiving orders. Now enjoy the elaboration of this drawing.

I hope you like it!

The work is done using a photo of the girl as a reference, first trace the initial sketch with soft and opaque lines, and then apply the base color, in this case use a color palette with low saturation tones, and then go to modify the different shades, between shadows and brightness. The drawing was composed of three sections, which were: body, hair and background, each one of them consists of different layers, between textures and shades until the desired result is achieved.

I really love watching blurry indistinct hints of people turning into portraits. Came out great, did they love it? :)

Very nice words, thank you so much. It is magic to be able to see how the portrait takes shape.

Dayum! Gorgeous work. I saw this on the @ocd curation, congratulations of the feature--well deserved.

I use sketchbook as well and have only read great reviews about procreate. What do you think? Are they substantially different. Thank you.

Hi. Thanks I'm glad you liked the drawing, if I also used that application, and it's pretty good too, the sketchbook is better in the simulation of the graphite pencil brushes, pastels, charcoal, you get a more realistic finish, the fading system feels better, much softer, but it doesn't have much variety of textures, the engraving system of the video drawing process, is usually unstable, and there are errors where you stop recording, a serious error when recording the process. The procreate, has much more variety of brushes, the interface is more intuitive, has more interesting tools, the video engraving is failsafe, accepts Photoshop brushes, and export the drawing in that Photoshop format, with layers and everything. In short, the procreate is more professional and with many more possibilities of development.

I hope it helps you :)

Helps a lot actually--thank you!
