Here's one Id did way back for the "retroclone" OSRIC. OSRIC (Old School Reference Index and Compilation) originally started life as a framework using Wizard's of the Coast Open Gaming License to effectively recreate the rule set for 1st edition Advanced Dungeons and Dragons. It was initially not intended to be a full blown ruleset, but more of a publishing vehicle to allow folks to legally create and sell content for 1st edition games. I cannot stress how highly contentious this idea was back in the early 2000's. Everyone thought the project would end up doomed under a pile of litigation. Much to everyone's surprise, the Old School Renaissance seems to keep building up momentum as time goes on. I know some 14+ years on, I still love to be part of the whole creative endeavour. Cheers and happy gaming!
