"Insect"

Many people say they don't like insects. I too dislike mosquitoes and cockroaches. But I like butterflies and dragonflies. I remember chasing insects around with an insect net and a basket when I was in elementary school. As an adult, I was once moved when I saw a giffonid butterfly, a quasi-endangered species endemic to Japan, in the mountains. In this painting, I depicted the insects jumping around.

「虫」

虫は嫌いという人が多いですね。私も蚊やゴキブリなどは嫌いです。でも私は蝶やトンボは好きです。小学生の頃虫取り網とカゴを持って、虫を追いかけまわしたのを思い出します。大人になってからは日本の固有種であり準絶滅危惧種であるギフチョウを山で見かけて感動したことがあります。この絵では飛び跳ねる虫の様子を描きました。

We need to look more carefully to see the details of this artwork.
Yes, I want every detail to be seen. The best way to do that is to see the real thing. However, sending artworks outside of Japan is not feasible because of the high shipping costs.
