It's been 4 months since my last post here. I needed some time away from a lot of things as I was going through a really challenging phase in my life and I felt I needed to focus on myself through it.
The past 4 months, in fact, ever since 2021 have taught me a lot about life, myself, and most importantly, God. There was a lot of learning and relearning, a lot of digging and resurfacing of things, dealing with things head-on and not running away from them but facing them head-on!
One thing's for sure, I am very glad for the lovely people God has placed around my life are such a great support system that I can lean on and depend on through the dark, ugly, and tough times. For those who really know me, I am not one who reaches out for help and would usually just keep those tough times to myself, and go through them on my own, not even my husband would know, not because I do not trust people but it's more like I just do not want people around me to "suffer" with me but of course, this has changed. I am blessed with people who genuinely care and want to share those burdens, and who do not think that I am a burden. With that, I was able to really go through this journey knowing how supported I was.
The thing about life is, it's real, very real. There's nothing about life that is equivalent to a bed of roses, even that, there are thorns. I have learned throughout the years to be very real, real with myself, real with God, and real with life, no sugarcoating, no throwing things under the carpet, and always dealing with matters when needed.
Here are some photos that were taken in the past 4 months in celebration of life and the people that mattered:
This is me with my friend's Captain America shield.
My husband doesn't like animals near him, at all! Even though the dog was pretty friendly and liked him. haha!
Badminton, one of the activities I enjoy doing with my cousins, brother and sometimes church mates.
Kahtleen, my high school friend who unexpectedly passed away while on a work trip at Sydney, doc said due to heart failure after contracting Covid. Gone too soon. She leaves behind 2 sons. Attended her memorial and reunited with my other high school friends whom I've not seen for more than a decade.
Dinner with my brother and his girlfriend for a sumptuous Japanese ramen meal for his Birthday. They've both been such a great support to both my husband and I in many ways and I am grateful for their neverending support and non-judgemental attitude.
This is my dear friend Siz. She used to be my lecturer when I was in College. Our relationship grew to become really good friends to the extend where we understand each other without saying much. We've both been a huge blessing to one another in many ways and she's like a big sister I never had. Very grateful for her.
Jason, someone I know for almost 20 years now eversince I step foot in World Harvest Church. He has been such a huge blessing to my life. This is us celebrating my birthday over an Italian meal.
These are my college mates, missing two of them. We've grown together through many stages of our life and have always been a great support to each other.
Just fooling around in a local shopping mall while my friend was searching for a dress. I kinda enjoy fooling around! haha
My lovely godchildren! I love being with them and especially listening to them when they're speaking to one another.
My first batch of Advertising students under my Thesis supervision. I thoroughly enjoyed guiding them for two semesters as they complete their thesis research. Such joy and I am always proud of them for trying to do things they dislike or find it tough.
These 3 are my ex students who I proudly call friends. They're leaders in an event where I was their advisor and through so many challenges times and crisis, we bonded even closer. They're amazing people and I am always very glad to be able to be a blessing to the younger generation.
Can't get the event person out of me! Was the floor manager for our faculty's Christmas Dinner celebration. Here's together with two fun colleagues chosen to be emcees of the night.
This is McBlack and his wife. Both were my students and I am very proud of them. McBlack was my emcee for my wedding and this is one of my closest ex-students. I am very honored to be invited to both his Indian and Chinese wedding celebrating their union.
My lovely family getting together for my father's Birthday. It's good to have the whole gang back with my sister and her husband travelling here from Singapore.
Christmas Eve dinner at church with these amazing bunch of warriors and worshippers. We've all been through a lot in our own ways and it's nice to see everyone still together.
Epic photo of us! It was super random and candid moment taken that's really funny and memorable! Love them to bits! @happycrazycon & @michelleloh168 too!
Outdoor Christmas lights exhibition at Desa Park City. I like how beautiful it looks. Went with @michelleloh168 after our movie and to our surprise, there were lots of people too!
Spent the public holiday bringing the children to the park. It was FUN FUN FUN!
Us blessing the return of our churchc's Lead Apostle. It's always a privilege to be able to belong to this church and grow with the leadership to what God is leading us to.
Ok, us fooling around once again. This was a Chinese New Year decoration at a local shopping mall and we decided to do this iconic Titanic pose. Thanks @michelleloh168 for being our photographer! haha.
Hosted some close friends for a potluck on News Year's Day.
The closest I could get to our King who came to the University to launch its' upgrade from a University College to a full-fledged University.
Lastly for this series of photos, my husband setting up the fire cracker on Day 1 of the Chinese New Year. Apparently, it is a tradition to light up the crackers!
