Content creation is greatly underplayed, many have a very ignorant view of the process involved with posting something as simple as a recipe video.
Now, I too once thought of content creation as nothing more than an overly pretentious term given to mundane tasks.
I was wrong.
The process is insane
The average process for making a simple YouTube video would drive anyone go insane, everything becomes an absolute pain as your stress of the smallest of issues. Making changes with your video editor. Editing audio or, worse of all, you have to retake a piece of audio.
Then comes the secondary aspect:
Consistency and managing it all
Consistency. Consistency. Consistency. | Image courtesy of Tenor
When you're just starting out making content you're going to try to follow a schedule. Good. Well, not good necessarily for you, but more so good for noticing the importance of remaining consistent. When you're starting out as a content creator, with no established background, you only have your name.
And you have none.
Thus, in an attempt to establish a name, you need to repeat things but still seem different. How? Uploading content on a regular schedule but keeping what you upload - fresh. Seems fairly simple, right?
But it ain't.
Why? 'Cause the process to do all the above is strenuous and will feel like a nine-to-five but there is no real consequence to your laziness. So you'll probably start out strong. You'll upload content at a regular late. But, by the next month, you'll start to feel it in your mental. Editing, curating, proofing, it can all become a little too much.
But -
I absolutely love it

I love everything about content creation. Yes, the hours can become annoying. Yes, the mood swings due to lack of proper sleep make you cranky. Yes, it can stress your mental.
But, it's so invigorating because its freedom.
The beauty of content creation, like anything art-related, is that it is your creation. Even if you were to be creating things for others - it still was your creation. Your artistic skill.
So, with all this in mind, would I recommend content creation for all? No. Absolutely not. Like everything else in life, it ain't for everybody. But I would say try it. Not only so that you can see whether you'll enjoy it, but also to better understand your favourite content creators.
I don't take responsibility for your existence if you like it
