Stewards Against the Dark (Montjuic Cemetery)
One of the things I knew I had to do while in Barcelona was visit Montjuic Cemetery.
Perhaps it's the writer in me, but I've always had a fascination for cemeteries.The concept of them, the need to know where we left someone and the comfort that provides us with offers tremendous insight in how we work. How clueless we are and how frighteningly small our understanding of death (and implicitly existence) is.
Cemeteries are a place designed, in my opinion, not for the dead, but exclusively for the living. They are places designated for grief, which gives us this funny illusion that grief can be managed, if only we assign a particular place for it.

The Bud Vase - The Art of Wood Turning
I have been very busy the last 18 months with various writing projects, a new relationship 😀 and getting on with the business of turning my passion for creative writing into, well... a business.
This means I've had little spare time, and what I have had, is very precious to me.
It is important to have passion in life, and creative outlets are my essential go-to for wellbeing and relaxation. It was with this in mind, that nearly 6 months ago I joined a wood turning club in my home city of Liverpool.

The Old Castle of Ostrožac or Stari grad Ostrožac, Cazin, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Hello everyone.
Old castles are always interesting place to visit. They are history lessons and I think they are worth visiting. In my home place there are several old castles. Some of them are in better shape than others. The Old Castle of Ostrožac or Stari grad Ostrožac is very big castle and very beautiful one.
It is located in city Cazin which is in north west part of Bosnia and Herzegovina. . Croatia is very close, you can see the mount Plješavica from the Castle which is natural border between two country.

Fürstlich Drehna - Infrared Photography on HIVE
Greetings, friends of invisible light photography. Yesterday I was out and about with my camera in Fürstlich Drehna. The town in southern Brandenburg is exactly 100 kilometres away. The journey in the air-conditioned car was quite relaxed despite the busy motorway. When I got out in Drehna, it was as if someone had hit me in the head with a roof batten; 32°C and not a breath of fresh air. But what don't you do for art? Infrared photography also works better when there is a lot of infrared light, i.e. in the summer heat.
In the heat, I was the only crazy person walking through the park. There had to be something good about the whole thing. I could just start taking pictures. Nobody was in the picture, nobody asked strange questions.
