Oh Mai Tiara - The Road For Love - Demo

Nobu has a bit of a problem. His girlfriend, Tiara is going to attend an all-female summer camp, leaving Nobu with his friend. Not wanting to be apart, Nobu devises a plan to make sure that the summer camp can claim to be “all female”, whilst also trying to get closer to Tiara. Naturally, not everything goes to plan, not least the sinister proposal given to Nobu to allow him to attend the camp.

Body swapping stories seem to be all the rage at the moment, and this is another in the list, so is there anything that makes this one stand out ?

The story is fairly gentle, although the only really noticeable event in the short demo is with Nobu’s plan to pronounce his love for Tiara backfiring. Aside from that, the story itself is somewhat mundane, with various spelling errors here and there.

Music and sound effects are rather sparse at the moment. Music is pleasant enough, but not particularly memorable. Sound effects (what little there are), are decent enough.

The background graphics are nice, as are the characters. But for some reason, a weird design choice was make with those, and all the females seem to have arched backs. Might be useful for pole vaulting, but it’s weird.

It’s an interesting start to what could be a decent visual novel. The demo does introduce the main characters and ends just as things could start to get interesting. Can’t exactly say the character designs do the game any favours though, but if you ignore that, the overall quality is good.

Be worth trying the demo before contemplating whether to back the project or not.
