Computer-Generated Chess Problem 02696

Now, here we have a 'KQRRPP vs kqqr' mate in 4 chess puzzle or problem (whichever you wish to call it) composed by Chesthetica using the relatively new computational creativity approach called the 'DSNS'. Chesthetica is able to generate various types of mates and study-like constructs and also compose problems using specific combinations of pieces fed into it (such as using only a queen vs. rook and knight). Learn more about it on ChessBase.

Solvability Estimate = Difficult

White actually has less material than Black. The white army is down by about 2 (Shannon) pawn units in value. Leave a comment below, if you like. Collectively, these puzzles are intended to cater to players of all levels.

Hi @chesthetical, this was a very nice one but easy to solve because of the multiple solution. :)
Rxc7+: if Ka8 or Kb8 then Qg8+ (mate…)
if Ka6 then Pb7+ (mate…)

Your key (fist) move is wrong, I'm afraid. Try it against an engine and you'll see. The link to the engine is in the post (just below the board).

Thank you for alerting me to the chess engine. The problem is so much easier using it. Now I look forward to solving some more. Yes the rook is the wrong initial move because the queen can capture the rook putting white king in check.

I took a look at the video and I see two variant:
if queen a8 then white queen a6++
if king take pawn first then queen to (b6+, b8++)
