How to beat a National Master (NM) at chess!

In the weekly team tournament I'm playing there are too many very strong players, I can't even get into the top 10 (but believe me, I try!)

There are many titled players among them, I don't know how you get a title but I do know that they play pretty strong, although in some way I enjoy measuring myself against them and seeing how good I am in comparison

Most of them have the national master title, let's say, the basic level of chess master titles, but these guys are the strongest you're going to find, and you have to be well prepared for it

But I was able to beat two in the last tournament!!

And it wasn't a game where the opponent makes mistakes and gives away the game after a few moves. I think I won in a respectable way, with good plans and above all understanding my moments

When I want to attack, when I know there is a break, I do it. I don't question myself too much even if it's blitz and I have some time to understand the position. I trust my instincts and I know that there is a winning combination further down

There is a lot of training in the middle and yes, some luck, but I think it is one of the best games I have played in these tournaments, although some player with hidden strength can always come along and finish you off.
