Many chess player aspire to reach the highest level of the game which quite unfortunately not many we achieve due to different factors but does who are the determined in to achieve it always does at the end. India is one of the world most chess hub with many GM to show for it.
Becoming a GM is no easy feat as a player has to cross the 2500 live rating as well win three GM norms.
However it was a good news yesterday when a 14 year old was added to the list of Indian grandmasters by name Subramaniyam Bharath.
Subramaniyam Bharath in 2019 at the age of 11 years and 8 months became international masters but yesterday Sunday 9th January what's a special day for him as he became Indian 73rd Grandmaster.
Bharath who was attended Vergani chess Open event in Italy was able to secure is final third GM norm with 6.5 points. He finished 7th overall after nine rounds with with four players. Lalith Babu his fellow India won the tournament against three others after better tie-break score.
I say a big congratulations to Bharath.
