Chess for me is a solution to everything. But what I fail to admit is that it isn't just chess I love. I love speed chess. Many times I find myself playing chess in different scenarios of life. Waiting for a bus, I play chess, waiting for the doctor, I play chess, no matter what life throws at me, it's never a bad time to play chess.
Speed Kills But it's Thrills!
In my university days, I sucked at speed chess, I've always been a fan of the classical times, playing long time controls seemed like the only way to play chess as a result I either run away from blitz challenges or get time odds from my opponents. Most times, I would always lose on time, often which I shrugged as unimportant since it's not classical chess. This happened for a long time till something happened!
I Lost
I had two knights advantage in a very complicated position in which my opponent wanted to checkmate me. I was clearly winning but I had 5 seconds on my clock. I thought and thought till my time ran out.
I lost on time, I was only 18 at that time with my fide rating at 1800+ , I felt bad, i asked myself different questions, but the most important question i asked myself was. WHY CANT I PLAY FASTTTT?
Lichess Bullet Master....
Fast forward to today, according to lichess, I'm one of the fastest players on their site with my highest bullet rating at 2500+, with my constant playing of bullet, I've been able to beat even 2700+ rated players on the platform
It's incredible to me and in my not so good moments, I've decided to share my transformation from being a very slow chess player to a very fast one. In most hive chess tournament, I play with "Beserk"(using half of my time against my opponent to get an extra point). And the results shows, I most times come up on top even while playing fast.
What's your opinion on speed chess? What's your favorite time control?
I'm asking this to my readers because in as much as some people enjoy speed chess, not many like to play without an increment. For example, I play 1+0 while some people enjoy 1+1. All speed chess but different time controls.
_I am @samostically,I love to talk and write about chess because i benefited alot from playing chess.

It's difficult for me to play 1 minute bullet. 3 minute blitz is my favorite time control.
Nice! Do u like to play with increment or without?
No increment but I lose on time often :)
