Dear chess fans,
yesterday the final competition of the Hivechess Tournament season 6 was played. 16 players (again the magic number!) had joined the 8 round 5+1 Swiss tournament.
We had a surprise winner: @burnoutawesome could leave the whole field behind him and won with a full point lead, second was @eniolw and "only" third was our alltime-winner @sawko. Congratulations to all 3 players!

As expected, @sawko is again the deserved winner - with an impressive lead, @jaki01 is the runner-up. This time @eniolw was third despite having played 2 rounds less - also a remarkable performance.

Season stats
The average tournament rating of this season 5 was 1877, again the highest so far! Seems the tournament is attracting more stronger players than weaker ones. Also participation-wise this season marked a new record with 15,4 players on average per round (old record from S5 was 13,9). So it is going in the right direction.
In total 22 players participated - less than in the last season, but it went only over 7 rounds! They took part on average in 4,9 out of 7 rounds which is quite high.
4 players this time had shown up less then 3 times and according to the rules therefore are not considered for the prices!

Where did you play before, on chess.com? On Lichess you are quite new, but you must have much more experience.
I have another lichess account called AlphaZerohuman but I created a new account to link it to Hive more easily.
Oh, cool. Normally Lichess doesn´t like it but seems it works :)
