It seems a bit odd that I am posting this so late because I usually record and upload very fast my gameplay of the Friday hive chess tournament organized by our host @stayoutoftherz, but the truth is that it has been a very busy week with a lot of news and changes for me.

We are all very worried about the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine, let's hope that this will end as soon as possible and that peace will last above all. Due to this situation many sport events have been cancelled and in July was going to take place the olympics for people with disabilities in Russia in which I was going to participate but for obvious reasons it has been suspended and we now don't know exactly when and where it will take place.

However, the coach of the Venezuelan national team has told us to continue training and not to neglect our preparation because we still have confirmed the PanAmerican event in Mexico which will be played in October and we also have the National Championship in early April so we must continue practicing and studying more chess.

Well, Back to the hive chess tournament this Friday, I could not play it in the best conditions because I was at the airport in Caracas accompanying my dear friend @rosmarly who has moved to italy and now starts a new life. I wish her a lot of success and hope everything goes well :).

it was interesting to try this new "environment" to play a few games of chess. The results as you can imagine were not the best :)

Since the beginning of last week I had in mind to play the tournament from the airport as my flight was supposed to take off at 21:00 GMT which was perfect as it was one hour before the HCT and well in theory I could play the whole tournament.

I arrived quite early to the waiting room and got ready to play the championship but the noise, the distractions, the people going back and forth made it very difficult for me to concentrate. With all that I was able to play some interesting games.

Just half an hour before the flight, they announced that the plane had some problems which is normal I guess and I immediately thought that the flight would be delayed a few hours but, they immediately announced the change of plane with another airline which got the process faster and unbelievably we started boarding 15 minutes before the scheduled time.

In other words, I could not finish the tournament because the "new" plane took off earlier than scheduled.

Now that I think about it, I have not boarded a plane since the pandemic started. The last time I traveled was in 2019 when I went to a tournament in Turkey and the truth is that there is a big difference especially with the mask and is that it is super uncomfortable, I could hardly breathe when during the trip.

Anyway, not to lose the habit, I decided to upload this video analyzing 2 games that I played in the HCT this Friday. The first one aginst @jaki01 and the second on3 against @schamangerbert. I hope you like it and leave me in the comments what you thought of the analysis and what do you think of playing in such an uncomfortable environment like an airport :)

I'm so glad to hear from you 😊 I can't wait to see your updates here in hive. Surely you'll get better in the tournaments since the internet is better right ? 😆 !PIZZA

You have no idea about the speed of the internet HAHAHAHAHA

Are you crazy ? You have to play in a quite place to have a better performance I'm not an expert on chess but playing with too much noise doesn't help 😅

True and yes we all the chess players are crazy for chess lol !PIZZA

    Nice analysis of our game.

The aim of the move f4 in the opening was to get a Dutch Stonewall position without locked dark squared bishop.
The good thing when playing against me is that you can always hope for some huge mistakes (which I finally also did, but you run out of time). :)

@rosmariy moved to Italy. I wish good luck in the new country then!

Yeahas I mentioned in the video, at the moment of changing the black squares bishop that was a great improvement for your position, it is as if you were playing an improved stone-wall or something like that.

Yes, sometimes I even exchange that bishop in these positions for the knight at f6 (also not to allow black to control e4), which is still better than to lock it in at c1 ...
But right, of course I also like to exchange it for the black squared bishop of the opponent if he allows it.
