Today, I want to share with you this project I did for college, which consisted is to choose some artistic movement and make an allegory of your own theme or work, based on that movement you have chosen. I mixed a bit the theme of Conceptual Art and Art Deco, and I wanted to do it with Howl's Moving Castle theme because it's a Ghibli movie that I honestly love, it's not my favorite of the studio, but I love it, so stay until the end to see how I did it! 🧡

Hoy, quiero compartir con vosotros este proyecto que hice para la universidad, que consistía en elegir algún movimiento artístico y hacer una alegoría de tu propio tema u obra, basándote en ese movimiento que has elegido. Yo mezclé un poco el tema del Arte Conceptual y el Art Decó, y quise hacerlo con el tema de Howl's Moving Castle porque es una película de Ghibli que sinceramente me encanta, no es mi favorita del estudio, pero me encanta, así que quédense hasta el final para ver cómo lo hice. 🧡
As I already mentioned, I wanted to adapt a little bit of the elements of Howl's character, like his past, his future, his elements, etc, through some movement like Art Deco, going more to the conceptual art part, after seeing a lot of inspiration on pinterest I found an image that was more or less what I wanted to do ♡.
Como ya mencioné, quería adaptar un poco los elementos del personaje de Howl, como su pasado, su futuro, sus elementos, etc, a través de algún movimiento como el Art Deco, yendo más a la parte de arte conceptual, después de ver mucha inspiración en pinterest encontré una imagen que era más o menos lo que quería hacer ♡.

The program I used is my favorite, Clip Studio Paint. I showed that reference to the professor and in the end, he told me to draw my own work based on that style, and it was time to get to work making the allegory digitally.
Here I started with the sketch, clearly the character of Howl as the main visual point of the work, I wanted to do something mystical, so I really liked working on his expression, his hair, his clothes and the aura he transmitted in general ♡.
El programa que he utilizado es mi favorito, Clip Studio Paint. Le mostré esa referencia al profesor y al final, me dijo que dibujara mi propia obra basada en ese estilo, y llegó el momento de ponerme a trabajar haciendo la alegoría digitalmente.
Aquí empecé con el boceto, claramente el personaje de Howl como punto visual principal de la obra, quería hacer algo místico, por lo que me gustó mucho trabajar su expresión, su pelo, su ropa y el aura que transmitía en general ♡.
Then I went directly to the lineart, detailing the character and also the background details. Each element represented something about the character. For example the star in his hand, the shape of the flame in the back alludes to Calcifer and the black wings allude to a transformation of Howl,overall, the allegory represented something more related to the rebirth of something, the resurgence after dark moments or change 💛.
Luego pasé directamente al lineart, detallando el personaje y también los detalles del fondo. Cada elemento representaba algo del personaje. Por ejemplo la estrella en su mano, la forma de la llama en la espalda alude a Calcifer y las alas negras aluden a una transformación de Howl, en conjunto, la alegoría representaba algo más relacionado con el renacer de algo, el resurgir tras momentos oscuros o el cambio 💛.
Once the lineart was done, I went on to add the base colors, in this part, I wanted to make it a little different from the reference, adding other types of colors and shades ♡.
Una vez hecho el lineart, pasé a añadir los colores base, en esta parte, quise hacerlo un poco diferente a la referencia, añadiendo otro tipo de colores y tonalidades ♡.
And here I already went to details and shading, as well as details in the background ♡.
Y aquí ya pasé a detalles y sombreado, así como detalles en el fondo ♡.

I really loved the result, I feel that the aura that Howl transmits here is so bright and even magical, I was very happy with the result ⭐. After completely finishing the drawing digitally, after getting the teacher's approval, I was able to move it to a physical format.
This part was from scratch and I used markers, colors, pastel chalks, and other materials, in the end in physical form it looked like this ♡.
Realmente me encantó el resultado, siento que el aura que transmite Howl aquí es tan brillante e incluso mágica, quedé muy contenta con el resultado ⭐. Después de terminar completamente el dibujo digitalmente, tras conseguir la aprobación del profesor, pude pasarlo a formato físico.
Esta parte fue desde cero y utilicé rotuladores, colores, tizas pastel y otros materiales, al final en formato físico quedó así ♡.
