I completely understand your point of view. Goblin Slayer definitely leaves a strong impression from the very first episode, and I agree that the brutality and raw themes are different from most other fantasy anime. The CGI in Goblin Slayer itself can look out of place, especially with the 2D characters, and I think it also disrupts the immersion a little.
The goblins don't look as terrifying as expected and it seems like a missed opportunity, especially for a series that wants to be intense. Still, for those who stay, the unique approach to dark fantasy and strategic combat can be rewarding in its own way.
