I have never seen the series, so my opinion about it has nothing to do with the universe that encompasses this character, in fact I didn't even know it existed, it just caught my attention, and in the end after evading it so much I decided to give it a look, and I don't regret it, because it is highly entertaining, and serves to pass the time and get to know the character first hand.
Although I am not a lover of current animations, I must say that this one has interesting elements, for example, the environment where the story unfolds, is well detailed in terms of scenario, they took care of details in everything and delivered a very colorful product.
Another important element were the battles, nothing impressive, but not something completely taken out of reality, which is appreciated, because we see a character, who despite not being human - I do not know what he is - is not invincible, he requires help at times to accomplish his goals.

One element that I do not appreciate, is the sensual or erotic theme. In most current animations there are sexual scenes, which do not really add to the story or plot that you want to present, therefore I consider it very unnecessary, for example in Castlevania there are and do not contribute much, in the blue-eyed samurai also, and it's the same, it just seems to be a theme that can not be ignored, even if it does not have an important weight that changes or helps for better or worse to the character.
Now, talking about the plot, it could be defined as a punctual adventure, or one more episode in the trajectory of the main character, who is known as the Warlock, a monster hunter who has lived many years and knows many aspects of human beings, so when he is hired for a job he gets involved in a bigger plot that causes a war between two species.

That is the main context, and from there other aspects are derived, such as the relationship between the human prince and the mermaid princess, a cliché nothing new of love affairs between species but that, very well worked does not cease to be interesting, even taking certain arguments of the original story of Disney's Little Mermaid, which are definitely nothing new.
In short, it is an animation that you can enjoy, it has good fights, an entertaining plot and characters that capture the attention of the audience, I consider among other elements, that is a point in its favor, so you can watch it quietly and have a nice time, much more if you have not seen the original series, so you do not make a prejudice of what you want to see in the animated character.

Wow, man, I had only seen the series and I really loved it. I had seen several posts about this new animated series and I think that after reading your review I might give it a chance to see how it goes. The drawings look great, it looks like it's well done.
Greetings 😉
Friend, I have only had the opportunity to see "The Witcher" on Netflix and in the game, but I just found out that an animated version has come out, the drawings look really good.
Thanks for sharing this review, I definitely have to give it a chance to watch it.
No matter how much I stare at it I only see Henry Cavill's face getting animated. I really like how he portrayed the Witcher (and it's sad that he doesn't portray that role anymore in its current season). It's like his face is the reference for its MC's character design so I'm a little intrigued to watch it and reading your review just made that interest grow more. I will add this one to my to-watch list, and I hope I can watch it later when I finish the ones I'm currently watching.
Btw, thanks for sharing!
