I saw this movie from seeing so many recommendations of it in this community and it's not particularly among my favorites. I've seen better, especially from this director. For my part I recommend you to watch Your Name and Suzume. And if you like anime loaded with romantic drama, Violet Evergarden is for you.
Now from this Chibi studio, I really liked The Tale of Princess Kaguya. It's my favorite of them all.
I saw Your Name recently and loved it! I'm looking forward to Suzume. And yes, because of the full marketing I expected more or maybe it wasn't for me.
I assure you that when you see all the Ghibli movies you won't want to stop haha when I started watching one, I ended up watching almost all of them because some of them were impossible to find and Ghibli made magic with their movies, they are all enchanting 😍
I haven't seen this one yet, I'm missing something extraordinary, someday I hope I can see it hehe
This is one of the best animated films that Studios Ghibli has made in a long time. It is clear that the work itself is like a story that refers to the same trajectory that this studio has achieved and the way in which its director sees the future. At first glance, and like any viewer, this film may not have as much impact as it would if you were a fan of the studio's work. I don't deny that there are better animated works, but nothing compares in terms of cultural, nostalgic, fantastic and emotional impact. As someone who has watched his films since I was a child, watching this work is fascinating.
But if, for example, I had to choose between this and other films that Studios Ghibli has made, there are ones that I would rather see.
