One Piece is back and with a chapter that was quite controversial among fans, since it "brought back to life" characters that many thought had died, but, it was very stupid to think that those characters had really died since their respective "deaths" made no sense. However, there are One Piece fans who like to put together stupid theories and then when those theories don't come true the way they wanted them to say that the chapter or something in particular is garbage. Anyway, they are a group of people not worth talking about.
One piece 1008 "Ashura Doji, Head Of The Mount Atama Bandits", starts just as the last chapter ended, with the supposed "Oden" greeting his disciples and tells them that he is there thanks to Toki's powers, which thanks to that he was sent to the future to be able to fight again against Kaido and defeat him once and for all.
Almost all of the Red Sheaths are shocked by what they are seeing and are crying at the sight of Oden once again. However, Ashura is suspicious of this supposed Oden and tells everyone that this person is not the real "Oden". And that they should remember what Toki told them about how his powers worked, which cannot send anyone to the past, only to the future and that Oden died that day, so it is impossible for him to be the real Oden.
While Ushura says that, the fake Oden is about to attack Kinnemon while his back was turned. Ashura hits Kinnemon to knock some sense into him. And Ashura cuts the fake Oden in the face, showing everyone that the fake Oden can't bleed, but taking advantage of the situation, the fake Oden attacks Ashura, piercing him with his sword.
Everyone is shocked at what is happening, while Ashura is on the ground wounded, while wondering who could be this fake Oden, as it must be someone who has met him because he acts the same way he did. But they all come to the conclusion that this fake Oden is Kanjuro. Kiku apologizes to Ashura for not killing Kanjuro in their fight, but Ashura tells him that it's not his fault since it's not easy to kill a friend.
Kanjuro has drawn a picture of Oden and is controlling him from a distance, but as Kanjuro is so injured due to his battle, he says he is about to die, but before that he is going to kill Momonosuke so he can fulfill his biggest acting role.
The fake Oden has a bomb in his body, which he activates to eliminate all the Red Sheaths, but Ashura stands up and sacrifices himself, ramming the fake Oden, exploding along with him and saving his friends (obviously Ashura is not dead, Oda is still not able to kill certain characters).
While the Red Sheaths set out to find Kanjuro, in the middle of the road they meet Jack, who has already defeated some Minks who were stopping them to take care of the Red Sheaths. But Inu decides that he will be in charge of fighting Jack, leaving the rest of the Red Sheaths to go take care of Momonosuke.
Parallel to this, we see that Orochi, as expected was not dead and is burning the castle, and wanting revenge against Kaido for betraying him.
We switch places and see Momonosuke, Shinobu and Yamato. Momonosuke says that he couldn't control his dragon power well before, but now he can control it a little more. Yamato is surprised to see that Momonosuke has a very similar ability to his father. Yamato also wonders how Luffy is doing, as he wants to go help him on Oden's behalf to defeat Kaido. But Momonosuke surprisingly replies that Luffy is fine, but he is a little weak. Shinobu is surprised to see that Momonosuke is able to know Luffy's condition even though he is not there, and she asks him how he is able to know that, but no answers are given and we are left in doubt.
The chapter ends with Luffy continuing to attack Kaido and Bigmom to no avail. Law says that they should separate them so that they have at least some chance, Zoro agrees, Kid says that fighting with her this way is like being in the same hell. In this way we are finally shown Kaido's hybrid form, which I liked a lot.
