One Piece returns with a good chapter, not the best of the last ones, but it was pretty good. This week in commemoration of Golden Week, there is a special cover featuring all the current Shonen Jump series and of course with One Piece (represented by Luffy) leading, we also see Midoriya and Itadora from Jujutsu Kaisen, so we are facing the "new pillars" of Shonen Jump "One Piece (which still remains as a pillar after many years), Boku No Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen. But in addition, One Piece also stars in a beautiful color page.
One Piece 1011 "Anko Standards" begins by showing us Kid and Killer who are seeing Big Mom getting dangerously close, and realizing that she put herself in danger of falling into the sea. Big Mom approaches with a new power, a new "Homie" named Hera, which appears to be a female Homie, although we don't see her full form, we can see her lips. Immediately, they perform a new attack called "Fulgora", which hits Onigashima's giant skull.
Due to Big Mom's attack, the box where Zeus was (which was made by Kid), is weakened, being able to escape from it and heading towards Big Mom. But Law, who was still in the place, using his classic Room, teleports Zoro, Zeus and himself to the lower floors. Leaving Luffy alone against Kaido.
Kaido is getting up from the attack he received from Luffy in the previous chapter and while laughing, he tells him that "he seems to be enjoying the risk of the situation because of the way they are series". But quickly Kaido prepares to attack and Luffy does the same. Having the two, a clash with Haki of the Conqueror that makes the place tempered.
We go back to Kid and Killer who escaped from Big Mom's attack, but due to the big impact caused by the attack and the big hole he made in Onigashima's skull, they are on lower floors, but Big Mom is not on the same floor. The two go in search of Big Mom because they do not want her to meet Zeus, but they are stopped by Hawkings and after a conversation, Killer decides to confront him, leaving his captain to go in search of Big Mom.
Now back to Nami, Usopp and Tama, who are being chased by Page-One and manages to get on Komashiyo (the rare Japanese lion-dog). Usopp attacks him, causing him to fall to the ground, but only for a few moments, as Page-One quickly gets up.
Surprisingly, however, they meet Big Mom, which terrifies Nami and Usopp. But, also surprisingly, Big Mom upon seeing Tama treats her with much affection, as she remembers that Tama gave her food when they first met and the people of her town treated her very well. Also, this change of personality and attitude is presented with children under 10 years old (that's why they call her Big Mom and also because she has a lot of children hehe).
Big Mom asks him why he is in a dangerous place and what happened to the people in his town. Tama tells her everything that happened to her people and her village, and that is that the village was destroyed by Kaido's forces, because many people from that village helped the Samurai. This makes Big Mom very angry, as we see Page-One in his full form approaching them.
Page-One tells Big Mom not to let them escape and when he is ready to bite them, Big Mom prepares her fist. And with a powerful fist covered with Conqueror Haki she hits Page-One hard, while saying that "Despite being in a pirate world, there is still a moral code". The Beast Pirates who were on the scene are shocked at what they just saw. Kid hears that Big Mom is very close and Zeus seems to visualize Big Mom as well, while Ulti is totally shocked and furious at what Big Mom just did to her brother. Thus ending the chapter.
Just like all the roof piece chapters have been, chapter 1011 was just insane!
Do you think Luffy will solo Kaido or he'll fail and have to try again with Law, Kidd and potentially Zoro and Killer? Personally I'd prefer the second or some variation of it.
