When a manga reaches great popularity is quite common that some animation studio wants to take care of its adaptation to anime, usually, this type of adaptations is much more common in Shonen manga, Romance and even sports manga, as they are much "easier" to animate.

However, there are manga that despite being extremely popular are very difficult or impossible to adapt. There are many factors why this does not happen, and they can be: The manga drawing style makes an adaptation to anime very difficult, an example of this can be: Vagabond, which is a manga with a magnificent style that an adaptation would be completely impossible, since it could not capture the majesty of the drawing of this manga, although the creator of this manga, is also the creator of Slam Dunk, which did have an anime adaptation.

Another manga impossible to adapt would be: Oyasumi PunPun, this manga, besides its beautiful and spectacular drawing style, which would be an optimal candidate to never be adapted to anime, has other aspects such as its plot, which is plagued with situations of abuse, mental problems, domestic problems, maturity and many quite delicate issues, besides being a manga that is often quite ambiguous, and this is an aspect that is much better expressed in drawing.

As I said, there are many manga that can never be adapted, but there are others that have had all those elements for which they can not be adapted, but still, they have been adapted, but in a terrible way, the most famous example is: Beserk, which has had two adaptations, a fairly old adaptation, which, despite not being entirely bad, also failed to meet the expectations of drawing this manga, but also had a much more recent adaptation, but entirely in CGI, which was something totally horrible that dishonors the wonderful thing that is Beserk.

I think that one of the manga which I would like to see adapted to anime would be Innocent, manga of which I already spoke a few months ago and is one of those manga with a drawing style so brutal, wonderful and impressive that no animation studio could make a work that is at the height of its magnificent drawing style, which is undoubtedly one of the best today.

The anime industry is quite big, every season there are new anime with great animation and artistic styles so good that even surpass their manga, but there are also many lousy manga, which do not give merit to their manga origin.
