How nice that these people, despite suffering misfortunes and living on the streets, still decide to help a poor and innocent baby 💔 this shows that no matter the past, appearance or social status, a good heart can only be detected through their actions ❤️

It is debatable whether they did what they did out of goodness. Their motivation could be sense of duty or even boredom -- why not try to save the baby if there is nothing else to do?
And their efforts were rewarded, if not only with satisfaction (on which they could not count) then with adventure and character growth.
After all, it is an anime with Christmas mood and sprinkle of comedy. ;)
maybe the feeling of duty or even a little bit of egocentrism to feel important had to do with their actions, but in the end it is still something very good and at a certain point anyone would have easily given up after so many misfortunes hahaha
precisely, although you would think they would do anything but go to such lengths to help the baby, in the end they manage to save him and they really go through a lot of trouble to do it, a great action :D
