Sometimes I like to read manga that break my soul, like Oyasumi PunPun, which is 1000% sad from beginning to end. And although this manga doesn't reach that level, in several moments of the story there are very sad and shocking moments.
Happiness is a short manga, of only 50 chapters, which focuses on Makoto Okazaki, which is a young high school student, the typical student who receives bullying from other students, a "dumb" character, so it is the perfect bait for such people, however, Makoto did not know that soon things were going to change in life, with the arrival of a character.
One day while Makoto was returning from a friend's house, he is intercepted by a young woman, who charges at him, attacks him and starts biting him on the neck, sucking his blood. And yes, Makoto is attacked by a vampire, which she gives the choice to the protagonist of this manga, to die or live as a vampire like her.
And it is at that moment that Makoto will make the decision that will change his life completely. This manga despite its plot a little simple, little by little many important things of the story are revealed and Makoto will be a character that will have a fairly important evolution, a quite natural development due to his new condition.
The drawing of this manga is quite good, its author, Shūzō Oshimi, knows how to capture feelings in an excellent way through his drawings. To some extent it is a manga that reminds, due to some elements, to Tokyo Ghoul, but it is very different in development and events, logically, but at least the way in which the main character, gets his change, is very similar in many aspects, even so, these two manga are very different from each other. Happiness is a pretty good manga, with a sad and desolate ending, but it feels complete, I don't know how to explain it, but it is a manga that you must read. Being only 50 chapters long, it is quite short.
