I remember watching this anime when it was on last year. In that season many Isekais came out and almost all of them were terrible because of how generic they are. This one in particular caught my attention a little at the beginning, but it ended up being just another one of the bunch. Anyway, it's good, but it's not that great either.

Well, I really enjoyed Re:Zero due to many things but the main takeaway was that the main character was a weak one rather than a Strong one and also, he undergone different hardships rather than the enjoyment that most Isekai's MCs undergo. I actually liked that part where the anime focused more on the “original” world than the isekai one. It helped in the story and is not far from being a school anime. But the isekai scenes of the anime were also interesting. I just cannot really understand how he can be so active and alive when he didn’t rrally sleep that much 😅
Overall, it’s an okay anime just like what you describe.
If you’re a bit tired of isekai anime, maybe you should pause from watching it first, including the ones that you’re watching currently.
How about watching what’s currently being aired? Like Kaiju No. 8 or Reincarnated as the 7th Prince? Or perhaps Wind Breaker or the Battery thing?
