Hello everyone, my otaku friends, dear community of The Anime Realm, I hope you are doing great today... today I want to share with you all a new review of a rather curious anime, I was on YouTube a few days ago, and its opening suddenly appeared to me, and I couldn't help but remember how much fun I had watching this anime, I must say that I don't think you know it, since it's not very famous, but it's definitely worth it. Today I'll talk to you about: Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun. This anime was a very peculiar ride, when I started watching it I was expecting one thing and ended up with something completely different, but in the best way possible.. this anime blew me away, not because it had a lot of drama or anything, but because I laughed a lot, even though I wasn’t expecting it.. first we have to address the obvious, although it may seem like a traditional sports anime, it really isn’t, yes, the protagonist, Aoyama, is a ridiculously talented soccer player, but soccer here is more of a backdrop than the main focus, and it’s something that didn’t bother me at all.
Of course, if you come in expecting intense matches, rivalries, and dramatic training arcs, I'll tell you right away that that's something you're not going to find here... but if you're looking for comedy, a character-driven story, and a touch of the absurd, then this is the anime for you... as you may or may not know, I'm a huge fan of absurd humor, and Aoyama is a character that I find fascinating precisely because of that, on one hand, he's an incredibly skilled athlete, who could play on any team he wanted, but on the other hand, he's someone who is absolutely obsessed with cleanliness, I'm talking about someone who avoids physical contact as much as he can as if it were a life or death situation, and who insists on cleaning every surface he is on so that there are no germs or anything like that, making everything around him look super spotless.
It's interesting to see how Aoyama, even with this obsession, plays a sport that most of the time has contact, and that's exactly what gives rise to super funny situations, since he always tries not to be touched, it's impossible not to laugh at his exaggerated reactions, but it's something that goes perfectly with his personality... it's such a wild contrast that you can't help but become fond of him, since there are moments when he really seems to enjoy cleaning everything and being as isolated as possible, so as not to get infected with something... it's something super funny and at the same time tender... it's like we're watching a version of Levi from Shingeki no Kyojin, but taken to a much more absurd and funny level.
Hola a todos amigos otakus, querida comunidad de The Anime Realm, espero que hoy estén super bien.. en el día de hoy quiero compartir con todos ustedes una nueva reseña de un anime bastante curioso, estaba en YouTube hace unos días, y su opening me apareció de repente, y no pude evitar recordar lo bien que lo pasé viendo este anime, debo decir que no creo que lo conozcan, ya que no es muy famoso, pero sin duda vale mucho la pena. Hoy les hablaré de: Clean Freak! Aoyama-kun. Este anime fue un viaje muy peculiar, yo cuando empecé a verlo, esperaba una cosa y terminé con algo completamente diferente, pero en el mejor sentido posible.. este anime me dejó impactado, no porque tuviera mucho drama o algo así, sino porque me reía bastante, aunque no lo esperaba.. primero hay que abordar lo obvio, aunque parezca que es un anime de deportes tradicional, la verdad no lo es, sí, el protagonista, Aoyama, es un jugador de fútbol ridículamente talentoso, pero el fútbol aquí es más un telón de fondo que el enfoque principal, y es algo que no me molestó en lo absoluto.
Eso sí, si entras esperando partidos intensos, rivalidades y arcos dramáticos de entrenamiento, te digo de una vez que es algo que no vas a encontrar aquí.. pero si buscas comedia, historia centrada en los personajes y un toque de cosas absurdas, pues este es el anime para ti.. como ya ustedes pueden saber, o tal vez no, yo soy muy fanático del humor absurdo, y Aoyama es un personaje que me parece fascinante justo por eso, por un lado, es un atleta increíblemente habilidoso, que podría jugar en cualquier equipo que quisiera, pero por otro lado, es alguien que está absolutamente obsesionado con la limpieza, estoy hablando de alguien que esquiva lo más que puede el contacto físico como si fuera una situación de vida o muerte, y que insiste en limpiar toda superficie en la que está para que no haya gérmenes o cosas así, haciendo que todo a su alrededor se vea súper impecable.
Es interesante ver como Aoyama, aún con esta obsesión, juega un deporte que la mayoría del tiempo tiene contacto, y es justo eso lo que da bien situaciones súper graciosas, ya que siempre trata de no ser tocado, es imposible no reírse ante sus reacciones exageradas, pero es algo que va perfectamente con su personalidad.. es un contraste tan salvaje que no puedes evitar encariñarte con él, ya que hay momentos en los que realmente parece disfrutar el limpiar todo y estar lo más aislado posible, para no contagiarse de alguna cosa.. es algo súper gracioso y a la vez tierno.. es como si estuviéramos viendo una versión de Levi de Shingeki no Kyojin, pero llevado a un nivel mucho más absurdo y gracioso.
One of the things I really liked is the way this series focuses on the supporting characters.. each episode immerses you in someone else’s story, giving you a glimpse into their lives, struggles, and quirks.. at first I thought: wait a minute, isn’t this supposed to be about Aoyama?, but then I realized how much depth this approach adds to the series, as you start to care about everyone, not just the protagonist, for example, there’s an episode about one of Aoyama’s teammates dealing with a personal grudge against a player from another school.. the way the story unfolds feels very genuine and relatable, even with all the comedic undertones that revolve around this series.. and it’s interesting that they didn’t just focus on Aoyama, since exploiting the same joke in a thousand different ways over and over again, pointlessly and boringly, can get really repetitive.
And speaking of comedy, this anime made me laugh quite a bit.. I felt like the humor was really well-timed and perfectly complemented the personalities of all the characters, as they are quite varied.. Aoyama’s germophobia leads to a lot of funny scenes that can definitely make you laugh quite a bit.. it’s pretty funny watching the way he dodges his teammates’ attempts to celebrate him after a goal, haha, it’s like watching an expert ninja evading a gigantic crowd of enemies. But what I appreciate the most about this anime is that it never makes fun of Aoyama’s obsession as such in a cruel way, instead it is treated as another part of who he is, which I found really refreshing, as at no point is it trying to ridicule this kind of condition, since obviously, although on this occasion it is treated with some comedy, it is not always like that, as it is a problem that really exists and does not deserve to be the target of mockery of any kind.
Una de las cosas que me gustó mucho es la manera en la que esta serie se enfoca en los personajes secundarios.. cada episodio te sumerge en la historia de alguien más, dándonos un vistazo a sus vidas, luchas y peculiaridades.. al principio pensé: espera un momento, no se supone que esto trata sobre a Aoyama?, pero luego me di cuenta cuánta profundidad le agrega este enfoque a la serie, ya que empiezas a preocuparte por todos, no solo por el protagonista, por ejemplo, hay un episodio sobre uno de los compañeros de equipo de Aoyama lidiando con el rencor personal contra un jugador de otra escuela.. la forma en la que se desarrolla la historia se siente muy genuina y relatable, incluso con todos los matices cómicos que giran alrededor de esta serie.. y es interesante que no solo se enfocaron en Aoyama, ya que explotando el mismo chiste de mil maneras diferentes una y otra vez, sin sentido y de manera aburrida, puede volverse muy repetitivo.
Y justamente hablando de la comedia, este anime me hizo reír bastante.. yo sentí que el humor estaba muy bien sincronizado y se complementaba perfectamente con las personalidades de todos los personajes, ya que son bastante variados.. la germofobia de Aoyama lleva a muchas escenas divertidas que sin duda pueden hacerte reír bastante.. es muy gracioso ver la manera en la que esquiva los intentos de sus compañeros de celebrarle después de algún gol, jaja, es como ver a un ninja experto evadiendo una multitud gigantesca de enemigos. Pero lo que más aprecio de este anime es que nunca se burla como tal de la obsesión de Aoyama de una manera cruel, en cambio se trata como otra parte de quien es, lo cual lo encontré realmente refrescante, ya que en ningún momento se busca ridiculizar este tipo de condición, ya que obviamente, aunque en esta ocasión se trate con algo de comedia, no todo el tiempo es así, ya que es un problema que realmente existe y que no merece ser objetivo de burla de ningún tipo.
As for the technical aspects, the animation impressed me a few times.. it looked super fluid and detailed, especially during the soccer scenes, even though the matches aren’t the main focus, the animators didn’t slack off, the players’ movements on the field looked incredibly fluid to me, capturing all of Aoyama’s speed and precision in impressive detail. Also, the characters’ facial expressions perfectly reflect their emotions… that’s something I really admire, from determination to surprise, adding an extra layer of visual immersion that makes the whole anime in general feel really high quality.. the way Aoyama moves on the field, his speed, precision, and grace is mesmerizing, you can tell the animators put a lot of effort into making these moments shine.. and it’s not just the soccer scenes, I must also say that I found the character designs interesting, unique, and fun.
Each character feels distinct and memorable, which adds an overall personal charm to the series, another thing, the dubbing work and music also deserve a mention. Aoyama’s voice actor does a great job capturing his calm and almost distant attitude, it’s like he’s always in control, even when things around him are chaotic, he always remains calm and seems quite relaxed, which is also very funny. And the opening - ending seemed like absolute gems to me. I admit that I’m usually the type of person that not every opening catches my attention, but I really liked this one. Both the song and the visuals seemed very cool to me.
I must highlight that this anime is not free of flaws, although I loved the episodic approach.. since it focused on many more characters, I felt that Aoyama could have had a lot more development, we see a little growth in him, yes, like when he starts to tolerate certain people touching him, but it’s something quite minimal. I would have loved to see a much deeper exploration of his inner world... what it's really like for him to live with this obsession, at home or in his everyday life, far beyond the things they showed... it would also be interesting to know what caused this, or to see if he sought help of some kind, or if he actually wants to change, or is okay with it... these are things that are interesting, derived from the subject matter the anime is dealing with, but, although the series hints at certain questions, it never really delves into these things, and it felt like a missed opportunity.
En cuanto a los aspectos técnicos, la animación me impresionó algunas veces.. se veía súper fluida y detallada, especialmente durante las escenas de fútbol, aunque los partidos no son el enfoque principal, los animadores no se relajaron, los movimientos de los jugadores en el campo me parecieron increíblemente fluidos, capturando toda esa velocidad y precisión de Aoyama con un detalle impresionante. Además, las expresiones faciales de los personajes reflejan perfectamente sus emociones...eso es algo que admiro mucho, desde la determinación hasta la sorpresa, añadiendo una capa extra de inmersión visual que hace que todo el anime en general se sienta de mucha calidad.. la forma en la que Aoyama se mueve en el campo, su velocidad, precisión y su gracia es hipnotizante, se puede notar que los animadores pusieron mucho esfuerzo en hacer que estos momentos brillaran.. y no son solo las escenas de fútbol, también debo decir que los diseños de los personajes me parecieron interesantes, únicos y divertidos.
Cada personaje se siente distinto y memorable, lo que agrega un encanto personal general a la serie, otra cosa, el trabajo de doblaje y la música también merecen una mención.. el actor de voz de Aoyama hace un gran trabajo capturando su actitud calmada y casi distante, es como si siempre estuviera en control, incluso cuando las cosas a su alrededor son caóticas, él siempre mantiene la calma y se nota bastante relajado, cosa que a la vez es muy graciosa. Y el opening - ending me parecieron absolutamente joyas.. admito que normalmente soy el tipo de persona que no cualquier opening le llama la atención, pero este me gustó bastante.. tanto la canción como las visuales me parecieron muy geniales.
Debo resaltar que este anime no esta libre de fallas, aunque me encantó el enfoque episódico.. ya que se enfocaba en muchos más personajes, sentí que Aoyama podría haber tenido mucho más desarrollo, vemos un pequeño crecimiento en él, sí, como cuando empieza a tolerar que ciertas personas lo toquen, pero es algo bastante mínimo. Me habría encantado ver una exploración mucho más profunda de su mundo interior.. cómo realmente es vivir para él con esta obsesión, en su casa o en su vida cotidiana, mucho más allá de las cosas que mostraron.. también sería interesante saber qué originó esto, o ver si él buscó ayuda de algún tipo, o si él en realidad quiere cambiar, o está bien así.. son cosas que son interesantes, derivadas del tema que está tratando el anime, pero, aunque la serie insinúa ciertas preguntas, nunca profundiza como tal en estas cosas, y lo sentí como una oportunidad perdida.
But hey, like I was saying, I thought this series was great, it’s quite a ride.. it delivers on the laugh and entertainment aspect, it’s light and genuinely fun… the characters are the best and seeing them interact is something I wanted to see week after week, in the end I found myself wishing there were a lot more episodes. It’s one of those hidden gems that allows you to take a break from the other intense animes full of battles, it’s ideal to relax a bit, since it has no drama or anything exaggeratedly cruel or bloody… I give it a rating of 8/10. Like I was saying, it’s not a perfect anime, but it’s a lot of fun… so the flaws it has didn’t really matter to me that much, it’s a reminder that anime doesn’t always have to be taken too seriously… sometimes it’s okay to laugh at the absurd and enjoy the quirky characters for what they are… so I highly recommend this anime to you.
Surely if you go in with the right expectations you will be able to enjoy it quite a bit, it is not an intense sports anime and it is not a deep dive into psychological struggles either.. it is simply a comedy that I feel has a lot of heart, and could connect with a lot of people who are looking to relax and just hang out with some friends or a partner, Aoyama is one of those characters that makes you embrace the ridiculousness in the best way possible.. well, I hope you liked this review. Pero bueno, como les decía, esta serie me ha parecido genial, es todo un viaje.. cumple con el aspecto de hacerte reír y entretenerte, es ligero y genuinamente divertido.. los personajes son de lo mejor y verlos interactuar es algo que deseaba ver semana tras semana, al final me encontré deseando que hubiera muchos más episodios. Es una de esas joyas escondidas que permiten descansar de los otros animes intensos y llenos de batallas, es ideal para relajarte un poco, ya que no tiene drama ni nada exageradamente cruel o sangriento.. yo le doy una calificación de 8/10. Como les decía, no es un anime perfecto, pero es muy divertido.. así que las fallas que tiene realmente no me importaron mucho, es un recordatorio de que el anime no siempre tiene que tomarse demasiado en serio.. a veces está bien reírse de lo absurdo y disfrutar de los personajes extravagantes por lo que son.. así que les recomiendo este anime.
Seguramente si entran con las expectativas correctas podrán disfrutarlo bastante, no es un anime deportivo intenso y tampoco es una inmersión profunda en las luchas psicológicas.. simplemente es una comedia que siento que tiene mucho corazón, y podría conectar con muchas personas que buscan relajarse y simplemente pasar el rato con algunos amigos o con alguna pareja, Aoyama es uno de esos personajes que te hace abrazar las ridículez de la mejor manera posible.. bueno, espero que les haya gustado esta reseña.
