Hello everyone, dear community of The Anime Realm, I hope you are feeling great today... this time I want to share with you a new review with my personal opinions of a very interesting anime, today I will talk about Dimension W... well, this is one of those series that gets your attention because of its premise, it seems quite unique and it is interesting enough to keep you hooked for a good period of time. . this anime mixes action, mystery and emotional moments, if you like futuristic scenarios or cyberpunk style, surely this is an anime you can enjoy, this series also includes interesting characters and a philosophical touch that can make you think for a long time.. it's a perfect anime to marathon.
But well, let's get to the point, the premise is pretty crazy... we are in a not so distant future where humanity discovers how to take advantage of a new dimension, the Dimension W, to obtain infinite energy... humanity has managed to use devices called coils to capture this energy, and this has revolutionized the whole world, making it a little more futuristic. But as always, nothing can be perfect... illegal coils have appeared causing a lot of chaos, and this is exactly where our main character, Kyoma, comes in, he is a collector who is in charge of tracking and recovering those illegal coils, sounds simple, doesn't it? But believe me there is much more underneath all this surface, Kyoma is a protagonist that I thought was pretty cool, imagine this... he is a tough guy with an old-fashioned air, who hates all the coils, but whose job revolves around them.. he has a somewhat strange samurai air, combined with a tragic past that is revealed little by little throughout the story.
Honestly, his hatred for the coils is not just a whim, it is strongly tied to a deep trauma that makes him much more relatable and human.. in this series we will see him navigate a high tech world while clinging to his old and outdated ways, he is both endearing and thoughtful.. his man out of time attitude makes him a very interesting protagonist, at least to me, as he constantly defies all the rules of his environment.
Hola a todos, querida comunidad de The Anime Realm, espero que hoy se encuentren súper bien.. en esta ocasión quiero compartirles una nueva reseña con mis opiniones personales de un anime bastante interesante, hoy les hablaré de Dimension W.. bueno, este es una de esas series que logra tu atención por su premisa, ya que parece bastante única y es suficientemente interesante para mantenerte enganchado por un buen periodo de tiempo.. este anime mezcla acción, misterio y momentos emocionales, si te gustan los escenarios futuristas o el estilo cyberpunk, seguramente este es un anime que puedes disfrutar, esta serie también incluye personajes interesantes y un toque filosófico que puede hacerte pensar durante mucho tiempo.. es un anime perfecto para maratonear.
Pero bueno, vayamos al grano, la premisa es bastante loca.. nos encontramos en un futuro no tan lejano donde la humanidad descubre cómo aprovechar una nueva dimensión, la Dimension W, para obtener energía infinita.. la humanidad ha logrado usar unos dispositivos llamados bobinas para capturar esta energía, y esto ha revolucionado todo el mundo, volviéndolo un poco más futurista. Pero como siempre, nada puede ser perfecto.. han aparecido bobinas ilegales que causan mucho caos, y aquí es justo donde entra nuestro protagonista, Kyoma, él es un recolector que se encarga de rastrear y recuperar esas bobinas ilegales, suena sencillo, ¿no? Pero créanme que hay mucho más bajo toda esta superficie, Kyoma es un protagonista que me pareció muy bueno, imaginen esto.. es un tipo rudo y con un aire a la antigua, que odia a todas las bobinas, pero cuyo trabajo gira en torno a ellas.. tiene un aire de samurái algo extraño, combinado con un pasado trágico que se va revelando poco a poco a lo largo de la historia.
Honestamente, su odio por las bobinas no es solo un capricho, está ligado fuertemente a un trauma profundo que lo hace mucho más relatable y humano.. en esta serie lo veremos navegar por un mundo de alta tecnología mientras se aferra a sus costumbres antiguas y pasadas de moda, es tanto entrañable como reflexivo.. su actitud de hombre fuera del tiempo lo convierte en un protagonista muy interesante, al menos para mí, ya que constantemente desafía todas las normas de su entorno.
Now let's talk about Mira, she is an advanced humanoid robot powered by coils, who ends up meeting Kyoma, this is something that naturally puts her in conflict with said character, since at first they don't get along at all.. she is not just any robot, she has emotions, curiosity, and a strong desire to discover the truth about the death of her creator, the dynamic between Kyoma and Mira is one of the strongest points that the series has. It's like watching a buddy cop movie where one partner is a grumpy detective and the other, well, he's very cute... I mean, we're talking about a robot with a tail, yes, with a tail, their interactions range from funny to touching... and it constantly evolves and adds a lot of depth to the story..
Mira also represents a fascinating contrast to Kyoma, while he rejects technology, she seeks to understand her place in a world where robots like her are extremely rare and often misunderstood. In terms of visuals, Dimension W is very good, the animation looks fluid to me, especially during Kyoma's fight scenes.. the visual style not only reinforces the futuristic atmosphere but also has a feel reminiscent of other iconic anime such as Cowboy Bebop, with its mix of advanced technology and nostalgic - old-fashioned designs.. this creates an interesting contrast that enhances the narrative and makes the world feel very familiar yet interesting and novel.
Kyoma is a master of hand-to-hand combat and the choreography of his fights is simply spectacular... there is a certain scene where he is facing a giant robot and the way he is moving is almost as if he is dancing, it is so smooth and satisfying to watch... every hit and movement in the fight scenes is carefully animated, showing the level of detail that the creators invested in these scenes. And what can I say about the cityscapes? I found them impressive, the futuristic world feels alive, with illuminated streets and framed details in the society that make you want to pause and just take it all in.. even the small details like holographic ads or everyday tech stores contribute to make the atmosphere much more immersive.. they transport you to that unique and fun future.
Ahora hablemos de Mira, ella es una robot humanoide avanzada alimentada por bobinas, que termina encontrándose con Kyoma, esto es algo que naturalmente la pone en conflicto con dicho personaje, ya que al principio no se llevan nada bien.. ella no es cualquier robot, tiene emociones, curiosidad, y un fuerte deseo de descubrir la verdad sobre la muerte de su creador, la dinámica entre Kyoma y Mira es uno de los puntos más fuertes que tiene la serie. Es como ver una película de compañeros policías donde un socio es un detective gruñón y el otro, bueno, es muy tierno.. o sea, estamos hablando de un robot con cola, sí, con cola, sus interacciones van desde graciosas hasta conmovedoras.. y constantemente va evolucionando y agrega mucha profundidad a la historia..
Mira también representa un contraste fascinante con Kyoma, mientras él rechaza la tecnología, ella busca entender su lugar en un mundo donde los robots como ella son sumamente raros y a menudo incomprendidos. En cuanto a los aspectos visuales, Dimension W es muy bueno, la animación me parece fluida, especialmente durante las escenas de pelea de Kyoma.. el estilo visual no solo refuerza la atmósfera futurista sino que también tiene un aire que recuerda a otros animes icónicos como Cowboy Bebop, con su mezcla de tecnología avanzada y diseños nostálgicos - anticuados.. esto crea un contraste interesante que realza la narrativa y hace que el mundo se sienta muy familiar y a la vez interesante y novedoso.
Kyoma es un maestro del combate cuerpo a cuerpo y la coreografía de sus peleas es simplemente espectacular.. hay cierta escena donde se enfrenta a un robot gigante y la manera en la que se va moviendo es casi como si estuviera bailando, es tan suave y satisfactorio de ver.. cada golpe y movimiento en las escenas de combate está cuidadosamente animado, mostrando el nivel de detalle que los creadores invirtieron en estas escenas. ¿Y qué les puedo decir de los paisajes urbanos? Me parecieron impresionantes, el mundo futurista se siente vivo, con calles iluminadas y detalles enmarcados en la sociedad que te hacen querer pausar y simplemente asimilarlo todo.. incluso los pequeños detalles como los anuncios holográficos o las tiendas de tecnología cotidiana contribuyen a que la atmósfera sea mucho más inmersiva.. te transportan a ese futuro tan único y divertido.
Talking about the music, I also liked it a lot, the opening is an incredible success... it's one of those tracks that cheer you up from the moment it starts, its rhythm is super energetic and has an electronic style that fits perfectly with the aesthetics of the whole anime.. and I found the ending super beautiful and emotional, a perfect way to relax after each episode. The soundtrack in general elevates the series a lot, adding some intensity to all the action scenes and also to the more emotional scenes.. even the quieter, comedy-like moments are accompanied by an interesting soundtrack, there are specific scenes where the music plays an important role, like during the climactic confrontations or in the moments of reflection with these two characters talking about their life and about their past.. that's where the soundtrack perfectly complements the whole atmosphere.
But I must say that this anime is not without flaws.. the whole “W dimension is the dimension of infinite possibilities” thing is repeated too much, I mean too much.. it's like ok, we get it, infinite possibilities, let's move on... also, the final conflict... I won't give you spoilers, but it felt a bit rushed and too dependent on the dimension concept, it's one of those endings where you think.. Really? That's how it ends? Don't get me wrong, it's still entertaining, but it could have been handled better, I feel like the denouement felt forced, and this is what contrasts with the very careful development of the rest of the series.. they show us such unique and promising characters that when the end comes it feels a bit bittersweet.
Hablando de la música, también me gustó bastante, el opening es un éxito increíble.. es una de esas pistas que te animan desde el momento en que empieza, su ritmo es súper energético y tiene un estilo electrónico que encaja perfectamente con la estética de todo el anime.. y el ending me pareció súper hermoso y emocional, una manera perfecta de relajarse después de cada episodio. La banda sonora en general eleva mucho la serie, agregando cierta intensidad a todas las escenas de acción y también a las escenas más emotivas.. incluso los momentos más tranquilos, como de comedia, se ven acompañados de una banda sonora interesante, hay escenas específicas donde la música juega un papel importante, como durante los enfrentamientos climáticos o en los momentos de reflexión con estos dos personajes hablando sobre su vida y sobre su pasado.. ahí es donde la banda sonora complementa perfectamente toda la atmósfera.
Pero debo decir que este anime no está exento de fallos.. todo el asunto de que "la dimensión W es la dimensión de las posibilidades infinitas" se repite demasiado, digo demasiado... es como ok, lo entendimos, posibilidades infinitas, sigamos.. además, el conflicto final.. no les voy a dar spoilers, pero se sintió un poco apresurado y demasiado dependiente del concepto de la dimensión, es uno de esos finales donde piensas... ¿En serio? ¿Así termina? No me malinterpreten, sigue siendo entretenido, pero podría haberse manejado mejor, siento que el desenlace se sintió forzado, y esto es lo que contrasta con el desarrollo tan cuidado del resto de la serie.. nos muestran a unos personajes tan únicos y prometedores que cuando llega el final se siente algo agridulce.
Another thing, while Kyoma and Mira get a lot of development, some of the supporting characters feel sorely wasted - for example, Kyoma's allied collectors could have had a much more prominent role, exploring their motivations and how they relate to the coil system much more, it also could have been interesting to delve deeper into Kyoma's boss, who seems to have a very intriguing backstory that's barely touched on. These characters could have enriched the narrative a lot more, adding more layers to the world of the entire series. I have to say that I would have also liked to see more about the antagonists, whose motivations sometimes feel a bit generic, with more screen time or a different kind of approach, these characters could have offered more memorable and unique conflicts.. but hey, despite these drawbacks, I still recommend Dimension W.
It’s a compact series with only 12 episodes, so it’s not something you have to dedicate a lot of time to.. the pacing is tight, the story is engaging and the characters, especially Kyoma and Mio, are memorable.. plus, the animation and music alone make the entire series worthwhile, it’s an interesting experience that mixes action, mystery and reflection. It’s interesting to see a story about the impact of technology in our lives, and all of that wrapped up in an impressive visual and sound package.. I give it a 8.5/10 rating. As I was saying, I didn't like the ending that much, but I think it's a series that has heart.. it also has enough interesting twists to keep you intrigued and hooked, I feel that the combination of a grumpy soldier and a curious, tender and funny robot, is ideal to entertain you for a while... I consider it a success. If you feel like navigating a different world, with technology and ambiguous moral issues, you can surely have a good time watching this anime... and that would be all for today... Otra cosa, mientras que Kyoma y Mira tienen mucho desarrollo, algunos de los personajes secundarios se sienten sumamente desaprovechados, por ejemplo, los recolectores aliados de Kyoma podrían haber tenido un papel mucho más destacado, explorando mucho más sus motivaciones y cómo se relacionan con el sistema de las bobinas, también pudo ser interesante profundizar en el jefe de Kyoma, quien parece tener una historia muy intrigante que apenas se toca.. estos personajes podrían haber enriquecido mucho más la narrativa, aportando más capas al mundo de toda la serie. Debo decir que también me hubiera gustado ver más sobre los antagonistas, cuyas motivaciones a veces se sienten un poco genéricas, con más tiempo en pantalla u otro tipo de enfoque, estos personajes podrían haber ofrecido conflictos más memorables y únicos.. pero bueno, a pesar de estos inconvenientes, todavía sigo recomendando Dimensión W.
Es una serie compacta con solo 12 episodios, así que no es algo a lo que le tengan que dedicar mucho tiempo.. el ritmo es ajustado, la historia es atractiva y los personajes, especialmente Kyoma y Mio, son memorables.. además, la animación y la música por sí solas hacen que toda la serie valga la pena, es una experiencia interesante que mezcla acción, misterio y reflexión. Es interesante ver una historia sobre el impacto de la tecnología en nuestras vidas, y todo eso envuelto en un paquete visual y sonoro impresionante.. yo le doy una felicitación de 8.5/10. Como les decía, el final no me gustó mucho, pero considero que es una serie que tiene corazón.. también tiene suficientes giros interesantes para mantenerte intrigado y enganchado, siento que la combinación de un soldado gruñón y una robot curiosa, tierna y divertida, es ideal para entretenerte un rato.. yo lo considero un éxito. Si tienen ganas de navegar por un mundo diferente, con tecnología y con cuestiones morales ambiguas, seguramente puedan divertirse un rato viendo este anime.. y esto sería todo por hoy.. espero que les haya gustado esta reseña. Despite the details you mention at the end, the plot seems to have an interesting context. I've seen few cyberpunk anime. Futuristic cityscapes will always be beautiful in this type of story.
