I'm a girl who loves anime and otaku cosplay and today I'm sharing with you the recreation I made to transform into Goku. I hope to give you the feeling that the Saiyan warrior from Dragon Ball exists in real life.

Soy una chica que ama el anime y el cosplay otaku y hoy les comparto la recreación que elaboré para transformarme en Goku. Espero generar en ustedes la sensación de que el guerrero saiyan de Dragon Ball existe en la vida real.
I made this costume myself at home, putting all my creativity into it.
I'll explain how I made my Son Goku cosplay. 👇
Steps to follow:
- The first thing you'll need for your Son Goku costume is orange crepe paper to make the costume. This character wears a jumpsuit, but we know that this garment is difficult to make, so a loose blue t-shirt and orange crepe paper will do. If you're a boy, you'll need a blue tank top and orange pants.

Pasos a seguir:
- Lo primero que necesitarás para tu disfraz de Son Goku será papel crepé de color naranja para confeccionar el traje. Este personaje viste un mono, pero sabemos que esta prenda es difícil de elaborar, por lo que una camiseta ancha de color azul y papel crepé color naranja servirán. Si eres un chico, necesitas una camiseta azul sin mangas y unos pantalones color naranja.
You will also need a blue or violet ribbon to make a belt that we will wear around our waist, some wristbands and some anklets; I made them out of tissue paper.
We will also need a blue t-shirt, like the one Goku wears under his orange jumpsuit.
On the other hand, with white cardboard, you will have to make a small circle with Chinese letters to wear on your chest so that your Son Goku costume is the same as the character's clothing.
As an accessory, make hair out of black cardboard and a gold-colored pencil and adapt it to a headband.
As footwear, we recommend dark sneakers and black tights.
If you want to wear accessories, the ideal one will be the Dragon Ball, which you can make yourself with a small yellow ball or some other spherical element, and adding red stars. I used a stick that would be the staff that Goku has used since he was a child.
- Asimismo, necesitarás una cinta de color azul o violeta para hacer un cinturón que llevaremos atado a la cintura, unas muñequeras y unas tobilleras; yo las elaboré con papel seda.
- Necesitaremos también una camiseta color azul, como la que Goku lleva bajo el mono naranja.
- Por otro lado, con cartulina blanca, deberás elaborar un círculo pequeño con letras chinas para llevar en el pecho para que tu disfraz de Son Goku sea igual que la vestimenta del personaje.
- Como complemento, elabore con cartulina color negro y un lápiz color dorado el pelo y lo adapte a un cintillo.
- Como calzado, te recomendamos unas zapatillas oscuras y unas medias color negro.
- Si quieres llevar complementos, lo ideal será la Bola de Dragón, que podrás hacer tú mismo con una pequeña pelota amarilla o algún otro elemento esférico, y añadiéndole estrellas rojas. Yo utilicé una vara que sería el bastón que utiliza Goku desde niño.
Goku's Kanji. 悟 (go) means "WISDOM", "ENLIGHTENMENT", "DISCERNMENT", "REALIZATION" or also "UNDERSTANDING". It is the kanji that Goku adopts after his training in preparation for the upcoming battles on planet Namek. Goku continues to carry this kanji until the arrival of the androids.
Kanji de Goku. 悟 (go) significa "SABIDURÍA", "ILUMINACION", "DISCERNIMIENTO", "REALIZACION" o también "ENTENDIMIENTO". Es el kanji que adopta Goku después de su entrenamiento en preparación para las próximas batallas en el planeta Namek. Goku sigue llevando este kanji hasta la llegada de los androides.

🤞Fun fact: In Japan, there is an official date to commemorate Goku, Toriyama's most iconic character. Goku Day is celebrated on May 9, since the numbers 5 and 9 are pronounced Go and Ku, respectively, which forms the name of this beloved protagonist.
