After 3 months and 20 episodes, Dragon Ball Daima came to an end. And the end of the last work of Akira Toriyama, may he rest in peace.
Luego de 3 meses y 20 capítulos, llegó a su fin Dragón Ball Daima. Y el fin del último trabajo de Akira Toriyama, que en paz descanse.
En esta oportunidad voy a dar mi opinión a lo que vi y analicé. Aparte que voy a dar una calificación con base en mi criterio y gustó personal.
I understand that many are overvaluing Daima because it was the last work of the master Akira Toriyama. I don't blame them and I understand them perfectly. But the reality is that this series left a lot to be desired.
Yo entiendo que muchos están sobrevalorando Daima por el hecho de que fue el último trabajo del maestro Akira Toriyama. No los culpo y los comprendo perfectamente. Pero la realidad es que esta serie dejó mucho que desear.
I'm going to be super honest, even though I'm a fan of Dragon Ball, I feel like if I hadn't seen Daima, I wouldn't have missed anything. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it was bad, horrible or garbage, but I do think it didn't live up to its name. My diagnosis is that Daima was just OK. After watching the entire series, without missing a single episode, I give it a 5/10 rating.
Voy a ser superhonesto, a pesar de que soy fanático de Dragón Ball, siento que si no hubiera visto Daima, no me perdía de nada. No me malinterpreten, no estoy diciendo que fue mala, horrible o una basura, pero si pienso que no estuvo a la altura de su nombre. Mi diagnóstico es que Daima fue REGULAR. Luego de haber visto la serie completa, sin perderme un capítulo, le doy una calificación de 5/10.
I would like to start by highlighting the strongest point, its animation and art. I would say that during the 20 chapters, we had a very good animation in general. Where it never dropped below 8 points. Highlighting the ending where this aspect stood out widely. The moment where Goku SSJ 4 fights Gomah, was the pinnacle of its animation. In that sense, I have no complaints at all.
Quisiera empezar por destacar el punto más fuerte, su animación y su arte. Diría que durante los 20 capítulos, tuvimos una animación muy buena en general. Donde nunca bajó de los 8 puntos. Destacando el final donde este aspecto resaltó ampliamente. El momento donde Goku SSJ 4 pelea contra Gomah, fue la cúspide de su animación. En ese sentido, no tengo quejas en absoluto.
One thing I do have complaints about, and received a lot of criticism from the community, is what happened with the canon. That basically, it was completely ruined with this series. The fact that Vegeta got SSJ 3 and Goku got SSJ 4, generates a lot of continuity problems with Dragon Ball Super. Since in this series, which chronologically is after Daima, these transformations never appear. Something that obviously does not make sense. That Goku has used up to SSJ 3 in his fight against Beerus and Vegeta up to SSJ 2 in the beginning of DBS, do not have any logic. Because now from what we saw in Daima, Goku and Vegeta supposedly had access to more powerful transformations.
En algo de lo que si tengo quejas, y recibió muchas críticas de parte de la comunidad, es lo que pasó con el canon. Que básicamente, fue completamente arruinado con esta serie. El hecho de que Vegeta haya conseguido el SSJ 3 y Goku el SSJ 4, genera muchos problemas de continuidad con Dragon Ball Súper. Ya que en esta serie, que cronológicamente está después de Daima, no aparecen nunca estas transformaciones. Cosa que obviamente no tiene sentido. Que Goku haya usado hasta el SSJ 3 en su pelea contra Beerus y Vegeta hasta el SSJ 2 en el inicio de DBS, no tienen ninguna lógica. Porque ahora por lo que vimos en Daima, Goku y Vegeta supuestamente tenían acceso a transformaciones más poderosas.
I didn't like the ending, apart from the visual aspect which I thought was perfect. I felt the resolution was unsatisfactory. That everything was resolved because Majin Kuu was able to give Gomah the 3 blows to the back of his head, I felt it was a bit disappointing. Added to the fact that once again Goku took absolutely all the limelight, relegating Vegeta to the eternal shadow of the protagonist. Honestly, I'm pretty sick of this happening. Vegeta gets SSJ 3 and 5 chapters later, Goku gets SSJ 4. To me, it's pretty frustrating how they waste a character as good as Vegeta.
El final no me gustó, quitando el aspecto visual que me pareció perfecto. Siento que la resolución fue poco satisfactoria. Que todo se resolviera porque Majin Kuu le haya podido dar los 3 golpes en la nuca a Gomah, lo sentí un poco decepcionante. Sumado a que otra vez Goku se llevó absolutamente todo el protagonismo, relegando a Vegeta a la eterna sombra del protagonista. Honestamente, estoy bastante harto que pase esto. Vegeta consigue el SSJ 3 y a los 5 capítulos, Goku consigue el SSJ 4. Para mí es bastante frustrarte como desaprovechan un personaje tan bueno como Vegeta.
Something I didn't understand is why there was no fusion? At the beginning of the series we are shown a scene where Goku buys some insects that allow you to make a fusion. Why do they show that scene if at the end they were not going to show us a fusion. I don't know if they did it to play with the viewer or if they got cold feet halfway through, but it certainly looks pretty bad.
Algo que no entendí es porque no hubo una fusión? Al inicio de la serie se nos muestra una escena donde Goku compra unos insectos qué te permiten hacer una fusión. Para qué muestran esa escena si al final no nos iban a mostrar una fusión. No sé si lo hicieron para jugar con espectador o si se arrepintieron a medio camino, pero sin dudas queda bastante mal esto.
In short, Dragon Ball Daima passed without any glory, except for those two moments where they talked about the new transformations of Goku and Vegeta. Unfortunately, it is a series with several errors and for me it does not meet the standards that such a big and famous franchise should have.
En resumen, Dragon Ball Daima pasó sin pena ni gloria, quitando esos dos momentos donde se hablaron de las transformaciones nuevas de Goku y Vegeta. Lamentablemente, es una serie con varios errores y para mí lo logra cumplir las estándares que debería tener una franquicia tan grande y tan famosa.
