Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might was released in 1990 in Japan. It was the sixth film in the Dragon Ball universe.
Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might fue estrenada en 1990 en Japón. Y fue la sexta película del universo de Dragón Ball.
Its plot is based on the fact that a Saiyajin named Turles and his henchmen choose Earth to plant the Tree of Power. This absorbs the planet's life and turns it into a fruit that, when eaten, gives the consumer an enormous increase in power.
Our protagonist, together with the other Z-warriors, will try to cut down this tree before all life on Earth seems to be destroyed. To do so, they will have to confront and defeat Turles and his subordinates. It was released in 1990 in Japan. And it was the sixth movie of the Dragon Ball universe.

Nuestro protagonista junto a los demás guerreros Z intentarán cortar este árbol antes que toda la vida de la Tierra parezca. Para eso deberán enfrentarse y derrotar a Turles junto a sus subordinados. Fue estrenada en 1990 en Japón. Y fue la sexta película del universo de Dragón Ball.
The film, in general, delivers. It's not something out of the ordinary, which is why it didn't manage to hold up over time, but it's decent. In short, it's for watching once and that's it.
One problem I could notice is that the introduction is too long for the length of the movie. Since the film is 60 minutes long and the introduction is 30 minutes long, this makes the last part of the film too compressed. Making it go too fast at times and skipping certain necessary things. For example, the final battle between Goku and Turles is rushed and resolved very quickly. Causing the ending to be not so rewarding.
La película en general, cumple. No es algo fuera de serie, por eso no logró mantenerse vigente a través del tiempo, pero es decente. En resumen, es para verla una vez y listo.
Un problema que pude notar es que la introducción es demasiado larga para lo que dura la película. Ya que está dura 60 minutos y la introducción 30. Esto hace que se comprima mucho la última parte. Haciendo que por momentos vaya muy rápido y se salten ciertas cosas necesarias. Por ejemplo, la batalla final entre Goku y Turles es apresurada y se resuelve muy rápido. Causando que el final no sea tan gratificante
What struck me most about this film was its villain. Turles is a cruel, ruthless, sadistic and arrogant enemy. Basically, he fulfills his role in the plot perfectly. And I was surprised by this because I had already forgotten what villains were like during the 80s and 90s in Dragon Ball. Now we get used to infantilized, unserious and even pathetic villains. It was a very sudden shock to go from seeing Gomah in Dragon Ball Daima, who was an intimidating and imposing villain, who could be one of the worst in the franchise. To Turles who is someone who engenders respect and fear in you. This aspect reminded me how much Dragon Ball was devalued in the last decades.
Lo que más me llamó la atención de esta película fue su villano. Turles es un enemigo cruel, despiadado, sádico y arrogante. Básicamente, cumple perfectamente su rol en la trama. Y a mí me sorprendió esto porque ya me había olvidado como eran los villanos durante los 80s y 90s en Dragon Ball. Ahora nos malacostumbramos a villanos infantilizados, poco serios y hasta patéticos. Fue un choque muy brusco pasar de ver a Gomah en Dragon Ball Daima, que fue un villano 0 intimidante e imponente, que podría ser de los peores de la franquicia. A Turles que es alguien que te genera respeto y miedo. Este aspecto me recordó lo mucho que se devaluó Dragón Ball en las últimas décadas.
One thing I didn't like is that the Z-warriors, with the exception of Goku, were very inconsequential in this movie. Really, they had almost no relevance. And this is something very common of current Dragon Ball, but not of the old one. In times past characters like Ten Shin Han had some utility, but here he was practically a filler character.
Algo que no me gustó es que los guerreros Z, con excepción de Goku, fueron muy intrascendentes en esta película. Realmente, casi no tuvieron relevancia. Y esto es algo muy común de Dragón Ball actual, pero no del antiguo. En tiempos pasados personajes como Ten Shin Han tenía alguna que otra utilidad, pero aquí fue prácticamente un personaje de relleno.

I saw this movie in the cinema when I was a child lol, I think the most interesting thing about it is the theme of the fruits that increase the power. It is true, most DB fans barely talk about about this film nowadays.
