I have to confess that since I was very young, I have been a fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh! world, both the series and the card game.
Tengo que confesar que desde muy pequeño, soy fanático del mundo de Yu-Gi-Oh! Tanto de la serie como del juego de cartas.
In this opportunity I would like to tell you a little about this hobby and show you some of my collection.
En esta oportunidad quisiera hablarles un poco de esta afición y enseñarles un poco de mi colección.
Yu-Gi-Oh! is one of those anime that managed to transcend into mainstream culture. What I mean is that you can show a lot of people outside the anime world an image of Yūgi Mutō or a card from Yu-Gi-Oh! and they'll recognize where they come from. It's kind of similar to what's happening with Death Note. It became so popular that you don't have to consume anime regularly to recognize this series.
Yu-Gi-OH! Es uno de esos animes que lograron trascender a la cultura general. Lo que quiero decir es que a mucha gente fuera del mundo del anime le puedes mostrar una imagen de Yūgi Mutō o alguna carta de Yu-Gi-Oh! y van a reconocer de donde salen. Es algo similar a lo que pasa con Death Note. Que se volvió tan popular que no hace falta consumir anime con regularidad para reconocer esta serie.
As if the colossal success of their series was not enough, they also managed to create and popularize one of the most famous card games in the world. After 25 years, it is still as valid as it was at the beginning.

Personally, I'm more of a fan of the cards than the series itself. I always loved getting and collecting the cards. Plus I also enjoy playing from time to time with a friend with whom we have the same taste.
En lo personal, soy más fanático de las cartas que de la serie en sí. Siempre me encantó conseguir y coleccionar sus cartas. Sumado a que también disfruto jugar de vez en cuando con un amigo con el que tenemos el mismo gusto.
The problem with the card game is that over time it became overly complex and complicated. In the beginning everything was easy and understandable. So that everyone could play and enjoy. Now it is the opposite. Lots of new types of cards and giant texts and complicated effects. The worst thing is how stupidly fast the game became. What you could do before in 10 turns, now you can do in 1. This makes it impossible and very difficult for anyone who wants to retake the game after several years.
El problema que tiene el juego de cartas es que con el tiempo se volvió excesivamente complejo y complicado. Al principio todo era fácil y entendible. Para que todo el mundo pudiera jugar y disfrutar. Ahora es todo lo contrario. Muchos tipos nuevos de cartas y textos gigantes y efectos complicados. Back to the series. The success of Yu-Gi-Oh! was so abysmal that it had several spin-offs. Of which I could name Yu-Gi-Oh! GX, Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's, and more. Personally, I only made it to the second generation. Then I lost a bit of interest in the series and only my love for the cards remained.

Something that I always found curious and somewhat funny about the series, is how a card game was able to determine life, death or the fate of the world. Sometimes it was hard for me to get into the plot when the soul of a character depended on a game or “duel”.
Algo que siempre me pareció curioso y algo gracioso de la serie, es como un juego de cartas era capaz de determinar la vida, la muerte o el destino del mundo. A veces me costaba meterme en la trama cuando el alma de algún personaje dependía de un juego o “duelo”.
The bad thing is that unfortunately, it suffered a lot of censorship. Literally, it is full of censorship. From symbols, letters, monster clothes, etc. I don't think it's bad that some things had to be changed, but I feel the vast majority was unnecessary. All so that the series can be sold as +7.
Lo malo es que por desgracia, sufrió mucha censura. Literalmente, está repleto de censura. Desde símbolos, cartas, ropa de monstruos, etc. No me parece mal que algunas cosas se tengan que cambiar, pero siento que la gran mayoría fue innecesario. Todo para que la serie pueda ser vendida como +7.
In conclusion, Yu-Gi-Oh! was for many an important part of our childhood and I'm proud of that. Looking back, I'm content to have grown up with it. So I can't complain.

Yu-Gi-Oh! es simplemente inolvidable, aún conservo un disco con una gran cantidad de capítulos en él, también era coleccionista de las cartas, cuanto me arrepiento de haberlas vendido, yo tenía todas las cartas poderosas del anime, una lastima que ahora solo viven en mi recuerdo.
Yo aun conservo algunas cartas, pero si me arrepiento de algunas que vendí.
Te recomiendo que no busques cuanto valen esas cartas que vendiste en el pasado. Puedes terminar deprimiéndote. xd
