After finishing Dragon Ball Daima and being quite dissatisfied with its ending, I decided to venture out and watch a new series.
Luego de haber terminado Dragón Ball Daima y haberme quedado bastante insatisfecho con su final, decidí aventurarme en ver una nueva serie.
As you read in the title, this time I want to tell you my first impressions about Shingeki no Kyojin.
Como leyeron en el título, en esta oportunidad quiero comentarles mis primeras impresiones sobre Shingeki no Kyojin.
I had heard about this series for several years. And generally, always in a positive way. But despite all the praise and accolades, I just now started watching it.
Había escuchado sobre esta serie desde hace varios años. Y por lo general, siempre de manera positiva. Pero a pesar de todos los elogios y halagos, recién ahora comencé a verla.
I'll be honest, I tend to have a sort of dislike for things that are too popular or “mainstream”. For the fact that it's usually overrated. This is why I delayed this series so much. Although all indications are that people weren't overreacting to Shingeki no Kyojin. 😅
Voy a ser honesto, suelo tener una especie de rechazo hacia las cosas que son demasiado populares o “mainstream”. Por el hecho de que por lo general se suele sobrevalorar. Por esta razón retrasé tanto esta serie. Aunque todo indica que la gente no exageraba con Shingeki no Kyojin. 😅
This series presents a scenario where humanity is invaded by a threat. Some titans of several meters high that eat people just for fun. This makes humans have to hide behind walls to avoid extinction.
Esta serie presenta un escenario donde la humanidad es invadida por una amenaza. Unos titanes de varios metros de altura qué comen personas solo por diversión. Esto hace que los seres humanos tengan que esconderse detrás de unos muros, para evitar su extinción.
I like its premise because it shows us what a hypothetical case would be like where humanity would have to fight a threat much bigger than them. It shows us how it would be a reality where we would all unite to fight against a common evil. Instead of confronting each other as it happens nowadays.
Me gusta su premisa porque nos muestra como sería un hipotético caso donde la humanidad tuviera que luchar contra una amenaza mucho más grande que ellos. Nos enseña como sería una realidad donde todos nos uniríamos para luchar contra un mal en común. En lugar de enfrentarnos entre nosotros como pasa en la actualidad.
I have to say that at the beginning I was quite shocked by the fact that the series was so dark, melancholic and raw. I say this because at the beginning it was very natural to show suicides, how a titan skinned a person and how someone died every 2 minutes. Maybe I'm saying this because of the huge contrast when I went from Dragon Ball Daima to Shingeki no Kyojin. It was going from something childish and childish to a serious and dark story. Although this for me got better in the second season. Since for me they toned it down a bit to the level of melancholy and rawness. And they added a pinch of humor, without taking away the seriousness of the plot.
Tengo que decir que al principio me chocó bastante por el hecho de que la serie fuera tan oscura, melancólica y cruda. Esto lo digo porque al principio se mostraba con gran naturalidad suicidios, como un titán despelleja a una persona y como moría alguien cada 2 minutos. Tal vez esté diciendo esto por el contraste tan grande que hubo cuando pasé de Dragón Ball Daima a Shingeki no Kyojin. Fue pasar de algo infantil y aniñado a una historia seria y oscura. Aunque esto para mí mejoró en la segunda temporada. Ya que para mí se la bajo un poco al nivel de melancolía y crudeza. Y agregaron una pizca de humor, sin quitarle seriedad a la trama.
Another thing I like is that you can tell that the story is well put together. What I mean is that, at least for me, I didn't find any script convenience or continuity errors. It's like they had everything planned from the very beginning. You get the feeling that from the beginning they knew how they were going to start, continue and end. It's like they didn't improvise at any time. This is something I appreciate a lot. A well written and formulated story with no gaps.
Otra cosa que me gusta es que se nota que la historia está bien armada. Lo que quiero decir es que por lo menos yo, no encontré ninguna conveniencia de guion o errores de continuidad. Como que desde el primer momento tenían todo planeado. Da la sensación que desde el principio sabían como iban a empezar, continuar y terminar. Como que en ningún momento se improvisó. Esto es algo que yo aprecio un montón. Una historia bien escrita y formulada sin huecos.
As for the technical aspects, I have no complaints. Its animation and art are EXCELLENT and SPECTACULAR. You can appreciate the great work in this aspect. Especially in the chase scenes. I can't help but be amazed by the high quality that is achieved with so much movement. In addition to the fact that at times I was salivating at the detailed drawings. Like in one where you can see Eren in the foreground turned into a titan.
En cuanto a los apartados técnicos no tengo ninguna queja. Su animación y su arte son EXCELENTE y ESPECTACULAR. Se aprecia el gran trabajo en este aspecto. Sobre todo en las escenas de persecución. No me deja de sorprender la calidad tan alta que se logra tener con tanto movimiento. Sumado a que por momentos se me caía la saliva por los dibujos tan detallados. Como en uno donde se lo ve a Eren en primer plano convertido en titán.
Finally, the music is SUBLIME. I don't think I've ever heard a better soundtrack than this. Literally, there is not a single piece that is bad. Added to that the openings are perfect. You realize it's good when you never want to skip it. Even if you've listened to it many times.
Por último, la música es SUBLIME. Creo que nunca escuché una mejor banda sonora que esta. Literalmente, no hay una sola pieza que sea mala. Sumado a que los opening son perfectos. Te das cuenta de que es bueno cuando nunca quieres saltearlo. Aunque lo hayas escuchado muchas veces.

I saw this anime by recommendation and the truth was open mouthed with the first chapter, at once we got into that world so dark and cruel, was very shocking the first chapter and that is what generates that one wants to see the whole story hahaha I was very fascinated with this anime, from the story to the soundtrack and not to mention the excellent animation, plus it is super loyal to the manga, you will not miss details hehe 😎
Totally. The first chapter shocks you quite a bit. It's a pretty shocking beginning that leaves you shocked.
I just finished the second season, but so far I can say that it's a pretty complete and balanced series. I didn't notice a single bad or regular aspect. Highlighting the animation which is almost perfect.

Great post! I started watching it during the pandemic and the only thing I'll tell you is that the good stuff starts in the second season... from there the good stuff starts, it's very entertaining.

Justo hace unos días terminé la segunda temporada. Me sorprendió mucho la revelación del titan colosal y el titan mecha. No me lo esperaba para nada jaja.
Ahora estoy re adicto a la serie. A este paso la voy a terminar en una semana o dos jaja.

Jajajaja si pues mi mente quedo cargando todavía con eso, fue tan a la ligera esa confesión, yo me quede como O.o??? pero no es mal anime
Coincido en que la estructura del guion es una obra maestra. Esas revelaciones que cambian TODO lo que creías saber… ¡Hajime Isayama es un genio retorcido! Y la animación de Wit Studio en las primeras temporadas es para enmarcar, especialmente en las batallas con el equipo de maniobras 3D.
El guion está demasiado bien hecho. Como dije, se nota el cuidado y el trabajo que hay en ese aspecto.
La animación es para aplaudir de pie la verdad. Viste la escena de la miniatura? Es casi porno.
