One thing that's almost impossible, is making me afk from my laptop but there is one anime that makes me forget to eat and lost my sleep.
That anime is Attack on Titan
The anime is always showing on my viu recommendation. At some point,I randomly watched one episode but I decided to drop it. My first reaction was, " wtf is this giant creature?"; It must be like fantasy weird shit going on. But two days ago, I decided to give it a try because I ran out of interesting korean drama to watch. I guess Viu recommendation finally got to me.
One episode, two episode,.... morning turns to night, night into morning, I ended up watching all episodes from season 1 to season 2. Now I am halfway into season 3.
What is so interesting about the anime?
As I watched the first episode where it introduces the protagonist, Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, I got curious about, " where do the titans come from?" "Who are they?" With these questions, the story got me hooked enough and I started to like some of the additional characters in the story, especially those from the training corps. Just coming with those questions alone, got me hooked to find out the truth about the origin titan.I haven't even got the full answer of how a person can be a titan even on the second season. There were some clues but it's not enough to satisfy my curiosity. Maybe if I fully finish that series, I would finally understand the titans.
And after a while, the twist that they put into the anime made it more interesting for me to watch.As of now, I want to know if there could be more twist being put into the plot.
Now, I didn't even want to go deeper into symbolism because I want to enjoy the anime as is without trying to see it as a commentary to anything.
But from a glimpse based on season 1- to mid season 3, I think that this anime can be symbolized in any political situation. I even read one that mentions it as a commentary to the meat industry; mindblowing really but again, that's not how I see it nor I'd agree with that theory.
On a good note, I am not too invested into the characters, so I am okay if one of them died. I like the characters enough but not enough to make me feel anything if they're suddenly drop dead.
Now, I am still looking forward to the origin of the titans and there was a titan in the first place. And also, from the third season, I get a glimpse that it isn't the titan that's scarier, it could be the human and their greed.

I loved it when I first found out about it, but then with this and that going on in life I lost track of where I was (somewhere in season 3), I'd like to watch it again and finish it this time but I kinda don't want to watch it alone and my partner thinks this series is stupid !LOL
I agree with you here, same for me, I loved the story but no one of the characters really grew on me, and I need to rewatch it and finish it so maybe on a second watch this could change even though I doubt it.
In the beginning that Armin guy is really annoying lol (imho)

Why does your partner think it's stupid? I am not a huge anime fan but I got hooked watching one or two series 😄 and I can't shut up about it. There are some potential interesting characters like Levi, Capt erwin, he seemed mysterious to me but really, nothing grows on me thus far. Arwin comes off weird at first but I like his character development where he toughen up after his experiences seeing the titans.
Ahaha I don't know, maybe she thinks the idea of the giants is a bit weird ahaha I will try again to watch it with her and this time I will insist a little bit more 😎
I stopped somewhere around season 3 so I do not know much about the characters, but for the few seasons I watched the characted development was pretty good, and as you said in you post it's the plot that really keeps you curious about what's going to happen and makes you want to always watch more.
Now that we're talking about it I think I wanna start watching it again today 🤣

Yes, I just remembered now about a scene around end season 1 or 2 when Arwin gets to see a lot of crazy stuff and gets traumatized a little bit, and after that he becomes a bit tougher.

You should definitely consider binge watching the entire Anime tbh. AOT is freaking awesome!!! Trust me :)
Oh, and if you feel like you're not connecting with the characters yet then, just you wait till Captain Levi shows up. He's such a bad ass character that you can't just help but fall in love with.

I already saw Levi, I am curious of his past but it still doesn't grow on me. Perhaps partly, I am also shielding myself from getting too disappointed when a character dies 😂 I hate this part. I got some hints that everyone could just die and that moment, I realized to just like, " let's not be too invested with the characters".
Oh, you've actually gone quite far already in your watching. Then again, I did complete watching 3 seasons in one day :7...
Ha! I know what you mean with that not getting invested notion. There's just SO much tragedy in the Anime and considering how I've already read the Manga... Let's just say: there's still a whole lot more tragedy left to come.

😍😍😍AOT is an absolute masterpiece in anime genre and there is a lot of surprise for you in season 4;unfortunately AOT is delayed for third part of season 4 until 2023.
I can’t wait to see what happens at the end.
I have finished everything and I can't wait the third part of season 4.... HOWEVER, I read the spoilers from the manga and how it will end. I kinda see that happening and was mind blown to find out who actually orchestrate everything.
