Hola mi gente linda de #TheAnimeRealm, como bien saben me puse como meta ver todas las películas que ha sacado los estudios Ghibli hasta ahora, así que hace pocos días le tocó el turno a Kaze Tachinu o El viento se levanta como se conoce en español, en inglés es conocida como "The Wind Rises" es un título bastante apropiado para una película que trata sobre la vida de Jiro Hirokoshi quien fue un ingeniero aeronáutico que diseñó varios aviones cazas japoneses durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial, sobre todo el más importante, el Mitsubishi A6M Zero, acompáñenme para conocer mis impresiones sobre esta película.
Overview/Resumen
Jiro Hirokoshi is a boy with a great aspiration, to become an aeronautical engineer, all of this after having had a dream with the great Italian aircraft designer Giovanni Battista Caproni. It is he who inspires the boy to create and let himself be carried away by the impulse of his dreams, and convinces him that he can achieve anything he sets his mind to, since at the beginning Jiro had doubts that he could become a great engineer despite his myopia. In this way he manages to make his dream come true and even starts working in one of the best companies where he would have the ability to develop his talent. The film also portrays the most notable events in the life of its protagonist, such as the Kanto earthquake in 1923, the Great Economic Depression of 1929, the tuberculosis epidemic and Japan's entry into the war. In fact, these last two events are the ones that shocked me the most, firstly because Jiro's wife, Nahoto Satomi, suffered from tuberculosis, although in the film it is not clear whether she was restored or not, and secondly because the greatest and best creation of Jiro, the Zero Fighter plane, would be used as one of Japan's weapons in World War II.
Jiro Hirokoshi es un niño con una gran aspiración, convertirse en ingeniero aeronáutico, todo esto luego de haber tenido un sueño con el gran diseñador de aviones italiano Giovanni Battista Caproni, es él quien inspira al niño a crear y a dejarse llevar por el impulso de sus sueños, y lo convence de que puede lograr todo lo que se proponga, ya que al inicio Jiro tenía dudas de que pudiera convertirse en un gran ingeniero a pesar de su miopía. De esta forma logra concretar su sueño e incluso entra a trabajar en una de las mejores compañías donde él tendría la capacidad de desarrollar su talento. El film además nos retrata los hechos más notables en la vida de su protagonista, como el terremoto de Kanto en 1923, la Gran Depresión económica de 1929, la epidemia de tuberculosis y la entrada de Japón en la guerra, de hecho estos dos últimos hechos son los que más me conmocionaron, en primer lugar porque la esposa de Jiro, Nahoto Satomi padeció la tuberculosis, aunque en la película no queda claro si se restableció o no, y en segundo lugar porque la mayr y mejor creación de Jiro, el avión Caza Zero, sería utilizado como una de las armas de Japón en la segunda guerra mundial.

My Opinion/Mi Opinión
It is superfluous to mention the neatness of the animation because it is something we are used to Ghibli, but I really can not help but feel admired by the movements of the characters, they are so natural that even seem real, precisely one of the most striking things is how they react to the protagonist of the story, ie the wind, which is a very important element in the film, we see it constantly blowing Jiro's hat, we see it moving the grass and also Nahoto's umbrella and dress, this is something that captured my attention right away because I take it as an allegory of Jiro's dreams, the wind is synonymous of freedom and when it is so strong it can also raise dreams and make them come true. Nahoto also dreamed of meeting Jiro again someday, and boy did she succeed. One scene in particular that caught my attention is one where Jiro builds and tests a paper airplane, it is amazing the precision with which the plane reacts at the mercy of the wind, it is very realistic.
Está de más que mencione la pulcritud de la animación porque es algo a lo que nos tiene acostumbrados Ghibli, pero realmente no puedo dejar de sentirme admirada ante los movimientos de los personajes, son tan naturales que hasta parecen reales, precisamente una de las cosas que más llama la atención es como reaccionan al protagonista de la historia, es decir, al viento, el cual es un elemento importantísimo en el film, lo vemos volar el sombrero de Jiro constantemente, lo vemos mover el pasto y también la sombrilla y el vestido de Nahoto, esto es algo que capturó mi atención enseguida porque lo tomo como una alegoría de los sueños de Jiro, el viento es sinónimo de libertad y cuando es tan fuerte puede elevar también los sueños y hacerlos realidad. Nahoto también soñaba con volver a encontrar a Jiro algún día, y vaya que lo logró. Una escena en particular que llamó mi atención es una donde Jiro construye y prueba un avión de papel, es asombrosa la precisión con la que reacciona el avión a merced del viento, es muy realista.
On the other hand, the story is magnificent and gives us several life lessons, among them, that perseverance is the key to success, that we must believe in ourselves and our abilities, but also that everything comes in its time. Jiro was a tireless person, he paid attention to details, like that time when he felt a breath of inspiration while looking at a mackerel bone while having lunch, this gave him the perfect idea to design something amazing, and by the way, I love the way this scene is animated, the precision of the character's strokes is amazing.
Por otra parte la historia es magnífica y nos da varias lecciones de vida, entre ellas, que la perseverancia es la clave del éxito, que debemos creer en nosotros mismos y en nuestras capacidades, pero también que todo llega a su tiempo. Jiro era una persona incansable, ponía atención a los detalles, como esa ocasión en que sintió un soplo de inspiración mientras contemplaba una espina de caballa mientras almorzaba, esto le dio la idea perfecta para diseñar algo asombroso, y por cierto, amo la forma en que está animada esta escena, la precisión de los trazos del personaje es asombrosa.
Once again and although it is not the focus of the story of this film, nature is very present in several scenes, with the wind, as I mentioned before, the main protagonist, the sound also plays a very important role in this aspect, there is no doubt that Hayao Miyazaki (the director) did a wonderful job.
Una vez más y aunque no sea el foco de atención de la historia de este film, la naturaleza está muy presente en varias escenas, siendo el viento, como ya mencioné anteriormente, el mayor protagonista, el sonido también juega un papel muy importante en este aspecto, no cabe dudas de que Hayao Miyazaki (el director) hizo un trabajo estupendo.
And another of the things that I enjoyed the most was the fact that, although the story is being told of an engineer whose work was very important and his greatest creation was used during the war, Hayao Miyazaki decided to focus his work more around Jiro's personal life, his feelings, the way he achieved his dreams, and how he dealt with the problems that arose in his life, overcoming each obstacle successfully.
Y otra de las cosas que más disfruté fue el hecho de que, si bien se está contando la historia de un ingeniero cuyo trabajo fue muy importante y su mayor creación se utilizó durante la guerra, Hayao Miyazaki decidió enfocar su obra más entorno a la vida personal de Jiro, a sus sentimientos, a la forma de lograr sus sueños, y como lidiaba con los problemas que iban surgiendo en su vida, superando cada obstáculo con éxito.

I remember having seen this film at least once and I liked it a lot, despite being a "quiet" story, compared to other well-known films from the same company, Studios Ghibli. Although it is not one of my favorites from this director, it is very entertaining to watch, especially for its audiovisual section and its story, which is very well inspired by history, if you will pardon the redundancy.

It's not my favorite movie either, but I did like it a lot, especially because of the historical context of the film, the music was also perfect and all the sound effects like the birds singing and the sound of nature in general.
