Return of the Blossoming Blade: Saint of the Cherry Blossom | Manhwa Review [En-Es]

in The Anime Realm7 days ago

The cherry blossoms have dried. Ruin has come to Mount Hua. No one can reclaim its glory; the great sects have crushed its honor, and misery is an undeniable and irrefutable fact. Drama, hardship, and pain abound.

I love stories that have a unique sensitivity. By that, I mean stories that go beyond mere messages, art, and the way they describe events, crafting an exotic and perfect universe.

In the case of Return of the Blossoming Blade, I started reading the manhwa over six months ago. I quickly found myself eagerly awaiting each weekly release, and to this day, I am up-to-date with all the episodes of the manhwa or webtoon.

The story focuses on the decline of one of the most honorable martial arts sects in the world, Murim (the martial arts world). After the death of the disciple of the Mount Hua sect, who just happens to be the protagonist of this story, the downfall began. Apparently, the betrayal and conspiracy of the other sects led to the fall of Mount Hua.

The battle fought by Chung Myung sparked a chain of events that completely tore apart the roots of the world's most powerful sect in Murim. Chung Myung was known as the Saint of the Cherry Blossom Sword, the greatest swordsman the Mount Hua sect had ever known.

Ironically, after his battle with Chun Ma, he dies. They say death is the beginning and the end of everything. This phrase is perfectly used in this story to set up a concept that could be considered repetitive in fantasy tales, but remains captivating: reincarnation.

Chung Myung is reincarnated in the body of a child, part of the beggar sect. A decayed body, drained of energy, without any power. No name, no family, and no connections. He understands—or rather, comprehends—that he must return to his roots, those that have brought him back to life. He lives in a world where he knows no one, where he is alone, and must face challenges he himself doesn't fully understand.

The irony of this is that Chung Myung's personality is unpredictable. He’s not easy to understand. He goes beyond mere violence: the drama, the madness, the revenge, the murder, the hatred, and love. After all, he is a human being who has transcended. He has imperfections due to his humanity, yet he becomes a fascinating character because it's impossible to comprehend what he thinks: whether he acts only for money, honor, glory, or gratitude. He is a master, a long-lived soul in the body of a child.

When Chung Myung sets foot in the Mount Hua sect, he realizes the horror of the situation and knows he must grow his power quickly. He cannot understand, nor accept, that the sect that taught him the finest martial arts has collapsed after his death. The simplest martial arts, the pills, and the medicinal arts are all lost. There is nothing left, only a sect that has lost its glory and honor. Trampled by debts and the families it protected, the wealth it once owned was taken from them.

There are many things I love about this story, and I firmly believe that, just like Solo Leveling, it could become one of the best anime adaptations in the near future. Chung Myung is a unique character who makes you laugh, reflect, and when the time comes to act, he does.

The manhwa is a madness; its artistic beauty transcends, and it maintains a fluidity of direct dialogue that hooks you. It keeps you entertained. Currently, this manhwa has 152 episodes, comprising two seasons adapted from the novel (I only read the manhwa).

The fights are incredibly entertaining, and the adventures Chung Myung experiences with the members of the Mount Hua sect are amazing. These members are, to him, his disciples, even though they see the Divine Dragon of the Mount Hua sect as a demon. His power goes beyond what they can comprehend, and believe me, it’s hard for me to even understand his personality. This is one of the most surprising and captivating manhwas. It’s my recommendation for this week; without a doubt, you should read it.

Thanks for giving us a space to write about anime, manga, manhwas and manhua. I feel like for the first time I can write about something that I'm really passionate about and that unexpectedly nobody knows or knew that I like. :)

It has a unique personality, very difficult to define. It will surprise you as you read.

Cheers 😁 for everything you tell, I find it a very interesting story. Chung Myung looks like a good character.

As it is, you'll like it! You should bet on it.

Hi, it's a plot with a good approach and one of the best rated manhwas. I hope you get to read it. Thanks for stopping by!

Apparently, the betrayal and conspiracy of the other sects led to the fall of Mount Hua.

This kinda reminds me of what also happened to the Northern Sect in Legend of the Northern Blade. The MC also experienced a lot of struggles after the fall of their sect, and upon reading your review on it—I'm intrigued. The Legend of the Northern Blade really left a sepanx on me, so I'm looking for manhwas with a similar concept, and finally, I read this! Will definitely check this out. Is this still updating? Or completed?

I haven't read anything about this manhwa you indicate, but I looked it up, I may start reading it. It is currently on hiatus. 152 chapters, season 3 should be coming out soon. I think you'll like it, from what I read here. :P

Ohhh good it's still on hiatus! I may be able to catch up to it soon...I know you'll surely like the Legend of the Northern Blade since it's also a murim manhwa. Will try to start reading this later!
