I started reading this manhwa a few months ago, and I was surprised by how, nowadays, I keep up with each new release weekly. I’ve been reading manhwas for many years, which is why I have a special fondness for this type of story. For me, they’re easier to digest and consume. Currently, the plot has 66 chapters and is ongoing.
Since this is something I enjoy and ironically part of my routine, I want to write about every manhwa I've read so far. “The Indomitable Martial King” is a novel adaptation, and it's produced by the same studio that created two of my favorite manhwas: “Solo Leveling” and “Revenge of the Iron-Blooded Sword Hound” (the latter is still ongoing; I read its new chapter today, and it’s intense).
The story's premise centers around the freedom of different races who are enslaved and treated like beasts by the human kingdoms. In that dreadful environment, the great mage Rifenhardt was born, nicknamed the Demon King by humans. Ironically, Rifenhardt built a kingdom where all races—elves, dwarves, orcs, among others—could live together (except humans). As the kingdom expanded, humans decided to attack the empire that Rifenhardt had created.
Quickly, the heroes sent by humans destroyed Rifenhardt’s kingdom forces, and he was forced to cast a spell of time and space. The reason being that his mage body was very weak, and for some reason, he had failed to achieve peace. Technically, the story tells you that the character everyone believes to be the villain is actually the good one, while the heroes are the real monsters.
What’s interesting about this story is that there is a regression, but Rifenhardt doesn’t return in his own body; instead, he inhabits the body of one of the heroes he was fighting before casting the spell. Now, Rifenhardt is no longer the Mage King, but the Martial King Rifenhardt.
An intriguing point is that, if Rifenhardt is in the body of the Martial King, who is in his Mage body? This question is answered, but it becomes clear only after the manhwa progresses quite a bit.
The artwork of this manhwa is something I really like; it's very clean, and the dialogue flow is well-structured. The most surprising part is that it feels as if it were animated, but it’s not. With the same style as “Solo Leveling” and “Revenge of the Iron-Blooded Sword Hound,” it’s easy to connect with.
On the other hand, the story's message is also very fascinating because it shows that monsters aren't necessarily monsters because of their appearance; rather, they are by their way of thinking and acting. The plot delivers a direct message.
Finally, the universe is well-constructed. The magic and fantasy elements fit perfectly together. I like that the characters don’t have the same type of power. There are mages, auras, and holy powers. Plus, when it needs to show brutality, it does. That makes it interesting. Without a doubt, it's a manhwa you should read.

Comencé a leer este manhwa hace un par de meses y me sorprendió cómo, hoy día, voy actualizando en cada uno de los estrenos semanales. Leo manhwas desde hace muchos años, por eso siento un gusto mayor por este tipo de historias. Para mí, son más fáciles de digerir y consumir. Actualmente, la trama posee 66 capítulos y está en emisión.
Al ser algo que me gusta y que forma irónicamente parte de mi rutina, quiero escribir sobre cada Manhwa que he leído hasta ahora. “The Indomitable Martial King” es una adaptación de novela y la realiza el mismo estudio que efectuó y efectúa dos de mis manhwas favoritos: “Solo Leveling” y “Revenge of the Iron-Blooded Sword Hound” (este último se encuentra en emisión; hoy leí su nuevo capítulo y está potente).
El argumento de la trama se centra en la libertad de las diferentes razas que son esclavizadas y tratadas como bestias por los reinos humanos. En ese entorno detestable nació el gran mago Rifenhardt, apodado por los humanos como el Rey Demonio. Irónicamente, Rifenhardt construyó un reino en el que todas las razas, elfos, enanos, orcos, entre otros, podían vivir juntas (excepto humanos). Ante la expansión del reino, los humanos decidieron atacar el imperio creado por Rifenhardt.
Rápidamente, los héroes enviados por los humanos destruyeron las fuerzas del reino de Rifenhardt y él se vio forzado a efectuar un hechizo de tiempo y espacio. La razón es que su cuerpo de mago era muy débil y, por alguna razón, había fallado en lograr la paz. Técnicamente, la historia te dice que el personaje que todos piensan que es el malo, es el bueno, mientras que los héroes son los verdaderos monstruos.
Lo interesante de esta historia es que ocurre una regresión, pero Rifenhardt no regresa en su cuerpo, sino en el de uno de los héroes con los que él estaba luchando antes de realizar el hechizo de tiempo y espacio. Ahora, Rifenhardt ya no es el rey mago, sino el rey marcial Rifenhardt.
Algo interesante es que, si Rifenhardt está en el cuerpo del rey marcial, ¿quién está en su cuerpo de mago? Esta pregunta se responde, pero se puede ver ya cuando el manhwa ha avanzado demasiado.
El dibujo de este manhwa me gusta mucho; es muy pulcro y la secuencia de los diálogos está bien estructurada. Lo más sorprendente es que se siente como si estuviera animado, pero no es de ese modo. Al tener el mismo estilo que “Solo Leveling” y “Revenge of the Iron-Blooded Sword Hound” se puede conectar con él muy fácilmente.
Por otro lado, el mensaje de la historia también es muy interesante porque demuestra que los monstruos no necesariamente lo son por su físico; más bien, lo son por su forma de pensar y actuar. La trama envía un mensaje directo.
Finalmente, el universo está bien estructurado. La magia y la fantasía son perfectas para conectar. Me gusta que los personajes no tengan el mismo tipo de poder. Hay magos, hay aura y poderes santos. Además, cuando se debe mostrar crudeza, se muestra. Eso lo hace interesante. Sin lugar a dudas, es un manhwa que debes leer.
