I don't know but it's genuinely rare to see an anime written by a woman. I mean, they are but most of them aren't really popular. Popular ones include Demon slayer, Psycho pass and yeah, some others. I was watching this anime two days ago. At first, I had already started it sometime around February but I decided to pause a bit cause I was writing exams. I never took it up again. It didn't just intrigue and captivate me then. Fast forward to now,the last month of the year and I find myself watching this particular anime again and discovering what I had on standby for a very long time was actually a very epic show.

Fruit Basket is a one of its kind kind of anime. We had its first episode air around the 6th of April 2019. "Fruits Basket" is a calm rigidly complex anime that revolves around Tohru Honda, a kind-hearted high school girl who finds herself living in a tent after her mother's death. Her life takes a wild turn when she stumbles upon the Sohma family. The Sohma family are shrouded in mystery due to a peculiar family curse. This curse causes certain members of the Sohma family to transform into animals of the Chinese zodiac when hugged by someone of the opposite gender or when they are under stress.
Tohru's life changes when she meets Yuki Sohma, the "prince" of her school, and his cousin, Kyo Sohma, who is often seen as the "cat" of the zodiac. He happens to have a really bad temper. Tohru's genuine kindness and hope gradually draw the brothers closer to her, creating deep bond that transcends the curse. The main plot revolves around Tohru's efforts to break the curse and help the Sohma family heal from their traumatic past.

Shigure Sohma, the family’s wonderful and flirtatious yet filled with surprising talents .They play a crucial role in guiding Tohru while also keeping his own secrets. The character of Akito Sohma, the head of the family, is what the whole anime.is revolved around. Akito is deeply troubled and exhibits controlling behavior over the other members, stemming from a traumatic childhood. The tension between Akito and the other characters, especially Kyo and Yuki, highlights the themes of acceptance and the desire for freedom.
As the story goes on, Tohru learns about the dark history of the Sohma family, including how the curse originated from their ancestors. The relationships among the characters deepen, particularly between Tohru, Yuki, and Kyo.
One the places I first got a recommendation to watch this anime was on Instagram and it was a makeout reel, with some characters.
The series definitely peaked when Tohru confronts Akito, which lead to pivotal moment of understanding and reconciliation. Tohru's compassion helps Akito then realize the importance of love and acceptance, ultimately leading to the breaking of the curse.
One of the 7 out of 10 rated animes I've watched this year. I would definitely recommend fruit basket to anyone.

looks good, excellent review and recommendation!
This anime was an option to watch it for the letter F on my Anime Challenge but it didn't really convince me so I decided to not give it a try.
It sounds kinda interesting now that I read your review, so maybe I give it a try later after I finish my challenge, thought it isn't my favorite genre.
Good review.
