Another 「アナザー」 (2012, 12 episodes)

in The Anime Realm8 days ago

Calamity/curse is chasing a particular middle school class for decades, taking lives of students and their family members in non-supernational accidents, roughly one person per month, unless "countermeasures" work.

Newly arrived student notices an "invisible" student who don't interact with anybody and whom everybody pretend to not exist.

Slowly developing show where in first half of the series protagonist struggles for anybody to explain to him what is going on, although surprisingly we later learn a good reason for that.

Average story is about how easy it is to lose sanity to fear, and act irrationally and violently, individually or in masses. It is hardly surprising that the show ends with gore-fest...

Another one that I kind of want to see based on the images and subscription but I really need to find some time. Cheers,

Some people like it but IMHO it is rather mediocre and hard to recommend, despite some interesting properties.

The Promised Neverland is scarier, with better suspense, much better story, and without gore-fest slasher tastelessness. ;) https://hivel.ink/hive-158489/@onlyjob/yakusoku-no-neverland-the-promised

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll see if I can find it. Right now I have Death Note ready as my first ever anine series to possibly watch but 37 episodes is kind of intimidating as I fear it will take up all my time.

Cheers,
