Drama, action and brutality. Aliens replaced bodies of a young man and an old man with incredibly durable high-tech cyber-bodies (that can't even be scratched by bullets), loaded with weapons and features like integrated jet-pack allowing them to fly. (Don't ask why as we'll never know anyway.)
Victims of that transformation struggle to maintain their own humanity: young man feel thrills of being alive when he kills, while the old man is excited to save lives with his powers. It is not even a spoiler to say that they will clash in some tedious fights. Watching this show requires substantial suspension of disbelief...

I remember watching this anime for the first time , it completely caught me off guard. I never knew I'd be so excited watching an old man fight for his family against a teenage villain
Is this the same author or creator as Death Note because wow!
I do not know if author is the same. (Author of manga on which the show is based or director of anime adaptation?)
"Death Note" is great but "Inuyashiki" is not...
I was watching some of this anime in a forum, and really crazy, I added it to my list. good recommendation.
Thanks but it is not a recommendation. IMHO, "Inuyashiki" is quite bad, boring, shallow and saturated with violence. I did not like it at all.
I remember watching this anime and being in love with the concept, as it's a pretty bizarre but cool plot. The only thing I didn't like was the animation, if everything had been done with traditional 2D techniques, it would have been much better and wouldn't have looked so rough and strange. I'm sure it would have been a visual delight in the style of Akira... but well, we know that would have been more expensive 😅
