Youth, passion, friendship, romance, first love, growing up, etc.
Amateur musicians learn to play and improvise together while their passion for music shape their relationships.
Love, appreciation and celebration of Jazz. Tribute to famous #Jazz musicians. Good music skilfully embedded into story.
This is not a show where characters always do the best thing. Sometimes they act stupid. Occasionally they struggle to communicate, they misunderstand and get misunderstood, they hurt someone unintentionally and they not always get what they (or viewers) want. And that only adds realism to characters' personalities, even if at the cost of viewer's satisfaction, as development of characters' relationships is far from perfect and might even make viewers feel intense discomfort.
Worth watching even if it won't become your favourite show.

I'm a little bit confused though. Is the name of the anime grownups or Sakamichi no Apollon?
How can you be confused about that?? Name of the show is stated unambiguously in the title:
Sakamichi no Apollon (Pronunciation of original Japanese title)
「坂道のアポロン」 (Original Japanese title)
Kids on the Slope (English title)
Follow provided link to the show description, if unsure.
Chill,I was seeing something else and got confused for a second. Thanks for the correction.
