Hey minna-san~ Do you know who's day today? No? What—Whyyyy? ahahahaha Anyway, jokes aside, today is Kakashi Hatake's (kyahhhhhhh) birthday! His really been my ultimate anime crush/husbando since then. It's been six years, and still he's unreplaceable in my otaku's heart ♡. His really my favorite character, and it's not just solely about his looks. Well, to be honest, it's like love at first sight (hehe). My classmate way back then just showed his picture, and I was like—Who's that man? I was immediately attracted to him, so I watched Naruto just because I wanted to see him.

As I grew to like the show, my admiration for him also grew. I became addicted to the show to the point that I watched its episodes before my exam days (I was supposed to be studying that time, lol). I became a fan of it because of him, but of 'course it's not only him that made me stay. So back to him, since it's his birthday today, I just want to share my fanart! This one was really a rushed one because a lot of things happened today, and I almost have no time to draw him. But since Kakashi-sensei has really a place in my heart (kyahhh), I really find time to make a birthday fanart for him! So here's the process of my fanart for my most beloved husbando: Kakashi Hatake!

Materials Needed:
  • Mechanical pencil
  • Watercolor pencils
  • Sharpener
  • Acrylic paint (white)
  • Brush

The Process:

1. First, I made a rough sketch from some references that I have—references for the pose and also for the character details. Since I'm really fond of him, I'm confident that I'm familiar with his character details, but I wanted to copy his style in that ramen eating show episode, so the references were really a must.

2. Next, after the rough sketch, I erased the unnecessary lines, and then I started tracing the sketches.

3. But still, I'm not satisfied with my clean sketch because it still lacks some details, so I added them.

4. After that, I finally moved on to coloring it.

5. Since I'm using watercolor pencils, I decided to blend some colors with a wet brush. Then for the polka dots, since I don't have a white color pencil, I just used my white acrylic paint.

6. I waited for it to dry (which was hard because it's cold here in our place now due to continuous rain), then after letting it dry I added some more details—and tadah, it's done!

As an avid fan of Kakashi, I was really happy that he didn't die on that Pain War arc. I really cried during that fake death episode. I was really into him, and seeing him die that way was just so painful for me. I know not many can relate to me (even my family called me oa/overacting that time because for them it's ridiculous to cry on a fictional character)—I can't really explain it well, but I'll just put it this way—Kakashi have been part of my growth as an individual. He's not really physically there, but he is one of my inspiration to strive further.

The way he continued to live despite the painful childhood he had was something that really inspired me. My experience is not as painful as his, but certainly, for me, it's depressing to the point that I even doubted myself if I could make it through. However, during those times, his experiences set examples, which somehow contributed to my reasons why I'm still fighting now. I know it will be a lifetime battle, but with my inspirations and also him~♡, I'll strive to overcome it. For he may be only just a fictional character to others, but certainly for me, he's definitely an inspiration—and for that I'm thankful.

So much for the sentiments! That's all for now, minna! I hope you like my fanart, and thanks for being with me 'til the end. Please do share your comments about it. Do you also like him? Well now you know you're not the only one... Tehehehe we're many~
